Now do I REALLY need to change my lisence and reg to MA? Can i get away with it for a year until it comes time to buy a new car up here?
I live in an area with a ton of college kids and a lot of out of state plates, so Im not worried about someone ratting me out.
Why did you change your insurance since you did not plan on changing everything? I had my license/reg/insurance with my mother's address in NJ when I first moved up here, and then switched everything at once.
I do not think you will have an issue with the state (so long as you can get a resident-parking sticker, if needed), but you might end up having an issue with your insurance company if you get in an accident.
Think about it this way: You get in an accident, but now your license/registration/insurance do not match. That would be a great loophole for the insurance company to refuse your claim and drop you.
Personally, I would not risk it.
P.S. Get ready for a giant kick in the nuts if you have to pay
excise tax on leased cars.
