    HELP....... ABS/ESP problem

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
As title says really, Car has the usual faults with ABS/ESP module. It has been on diagnostics and pin points to the ABS module

All still works but bringing up the usual lights

    ABS/ESP fault
    Traction control fault
    E/Handbrake malfunction

All came on one time in really bad rain for few days

    I have the 2.0 tdi 170, preface 59 reg

Does anyone know if the module is accessible without disconnecting the whole pump unit? seen few videos on youtube for different cars, like A4 but no info on A5
As this would make things alot easier, so can send off for fixing rather than £1100 on a whole new unit

59 registration will be meaningless to the majority on here as is a TDi unfortunately Marc.

Have you tried clearing the faults with VCDS before you do anything drastic?

ok its the older preface diesel model.

just the diagnostics garages have, been to 2 garages, both showing abs module fault.

just wondering if anyones been able to remove the module ecu off the abs pump unit, its right up against suspension/wheel panel but cars like A4 let you move coolant and have enough play on the abs unit, to unscrew the abs module so no need to bleed brakes etc

Did you see this YouTube guide? It's an older model but procedure may be the same.
