I just picked up a 2012 its been rebuild after a water incident - 70 k on the car 30 k on the engine

Are there any inherent issues with the vehicle that would be good to watch out for?

I was talking to a friend and he was commenting that with the turbos it is good to get a monitor (t-couple) to ensure that you get below 400F on the EGT prior to shutting the engine down - OR you was "cook" the bearings

    What are your thoughts?

My thoughts are to not buy an A6 (or any car for that matter) that's been in a "water incident" in the first place. Good luck.

The 3.0 TFSI is supercharged, not turbocharged

They probably should have totaled it. I'd be more concerned about the electrical components.

Was the engine a new insurance replacement, or a used unit dropped in by the owner?

The 3.0T engines are pretty solid, with no real known issues.

As others said, ld be more concerned about long term impact on electrical systems, as there are a lot of control units on the floor, under the seats.
