Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Ok guys, I bought the 18z calipars and pads. Tryed to install these lastnight and realized I need different rotors. Does anyone know which rotors I need to run with these calipars on my b8 s4?

Something 350mm. I believe ml55 rotors are popular with that caliper. Nit sure how the offset works for you. As noted, q7 is 5x130 so those rotors will not work

Porsche Macan rotors are 350mm and are the correct bolt pattern 5x112. Just wondering about the offset though..

I'm surprised you were able to bolt these up. Some before you tried and reported that the caliper body contacted the upright. Thus, I don't believe there are any B8 owners who've actually run this setup yet, and you'll need to make some calculations or test to find a rotor with the proper offset.

As far as rotor options, you could look into the MB GL450 (350x32) and ML55 AMG (345x32) rotors.

Almost positive they don't bolt up. I think only the 19z work with brackets on the b8.

18z calipars as well as 19z calipars have the same distance in bolt holes. They bolt up.

Yes, the bolt spacing is correct, but people report the caliper body hits the upright.

Have you actually physically mounted them to the car yet?

I'm not the OP but some maths and a lot of hunting through specs made me think that GL500 rotors might be close

Definitely interested in the outcome of this. I've been trying to get myself to buy the q5 calipers but if the q7s work I'd rather get those

I'm a little confused exactly on what I should be basing the rotor offset on. The q7's offset ? Of the s4 ?

You'd want to measure the difference between where the center of the 18Z calipers sits (when mounted) in comparison to the stock caliper, and then adjust the rotor offset/height accordingly.

    ---

A little very quick math. For the B7 S4 (which uses the same caliper as the B8), the rotors for 18Z had a rotor offset/height that was 3.7mm more than the stock rotor, for reference.

47.3 was the stock rotor height, ML55s (primary 18Z rotor choice) is 51mm.

For the B8, the stock rotor height is 51.9mm, so maybe something around 55-56mm height?

The GL550 rotor is 54.8, so in the ballpark. That may be the same as the GL500 one that was mentioned above. He's on the right track.

That's exactly how I drew my conclusion GL500 rotors are a 55mm height

Ohhhhhhh okay. That makes a lot more sense. I'm really
Hoping the OP throws a picture up of the calipers mounted for a little confirmation on the fitment. Z18s are relatively easy to source and the price is a little better then the Q5 four Pistons.

Sorry guys yes I'll post pictures. The calipars bolt up. But the project is on hold atm. Something came up. I'm still on it tho give me a week or 2. A 2010 cl 600 rotor looks like it will do the job. I'll order one and double check it in a week or so.

OK, so the 18Z caliper fits, the 19Z needs the adapter? But the 18Z needs a special rotor that the OP is attempting to source? Got it. Sorry for my confusion, trying the source a BBK for less than $2K ahs me all confused!

Has the OP contaced Adam for rotor options?

I don't think B7 S4 rotors are going to fit the B8 S4. The center bore on the B8 S4 is 66.6 mm and the B7 is 57.1 mm.
