I figured out how to get free Audi Connect

I originally posted this in the c7 forum b/c I have an S7. I think Q5s have this too and I am sure it will help someone. If I cannot x-post, just delete this thread.

Go here: link Buy that for 4.99. There is a freedompop trial of 1 gb a month that you can downgrade anytime. It's kinda tricky how to downgrade, but it is in account settings and gives you 200 mb a month after downgrade FOR FREE AND FOREVER!

I bought 2 of these so I have 400 a month data. When you get it, the default settings will not work. You need to read the package it comes in to change the APN in Audi. It's something like freedompopmobile.foggmobile.com (or something like that). Also enable data roaming. Then it will work and you will have Audi Connect for FREE.

BTW, if you are interested in getting more free data, PM me and I can invite you I believe so that you get more free data when you sign up. I just leave the extra sim in my center console and swap them out if it runs out. From what I've read it is like 80 mb to cache a map on google earth. I don't use the google earth function and just use the Audi Connect and it doesn't eat much data.

I thought the traffic was fed by Sirius, at least in my '15 Q7.

Wow are you serious? Those mother ******s at Audi told me it was Audi connect. Tried to get me to pay 20$ a month or something absurd. I bet Sirius is cheaper than that

google on the internet. there is a number you can call to get sirius. i never pay more than like 110 or something like that a year. there's a cancellation line (that i bet you can use if you just say your friend got it for a lower price). i call every year and get it adjusted.

Traffic is free for 4 years through Sirius. You can always get the yearly subscription for $89 by calling the cancellation line. Remember if the rep says no, hang up and try again until you a rep to say YES! Even if you cancel your subscription, you will still have Traffic until the 4 years is over.
