I removed my JB-1 this morning in preps for my 5K mile service. I must say, Mathilda feels like a dog without it! Can't wait to reinstall!! That is all.

I have a Neuspeed power module to remove before my 5k - did you clear codes (assuming there are overboost codes in there somewhere), or are you just putting miles on before the service?

I was contemplating removing it, buying the Eurodyne tune and home install kit, using it to clear codes, and then just going Eurodyne Stage 1.5 after.

I feel your pain! I drove for about 200 miles prior to my service without it and it was the longest 200 of my life!

Fwiw, I was lazy at my 25k service and kept it on, dealership said nothing until they screwed up my car and then tried to blame me because of mods... tho had nothing to do with the problem.

What do you think of the module? I'm contemplating on getting one and wondered how hard it was to install and if you can really feel the power increase?

    TIA!

I like it, the power increase was noticeable and makes the car more fun. The install was straightforward, but without a jack or ramps, getting the boost tap plugged in was quite something. My hands were bleeding and I swore a lot, but I got it done. With ramps, the whole thing would take 5 minutes.

Thanks for the info. Looking to get this after the sound enhancing resonator. :)

Yep, I removed the cover, but with the car on flat ground it's a b*tch to get to the tap. You have to contort your hand in all sorts of weird ways. Doable, but I recommend ramps or a jack.

Someone claimed to have accessed the tap from the top, but I don't see how. I did end up releasing the harness from the top with a long flathead screwdriver, but still had to plug things in from the bottom.

Did you clear the codes before going in?

Have the best recommendation for this? Is the Ross-Tech one the only way to go?

what codes are supposed to be cleared after removing the JB1 before going in for his 5k service ???
was under the impression that the tuning box left no telltale signs in the ECU.
    Please explain, thanx.

There shouldn't be any codes. As long as you;re on map 1, everything is within OEM limits (fuel trim, etc).

There were no stored codes when I scanned, but I hit the 'clear codes' button any way. Easier than wondering if there was something I missed. All's well with the service, no flags. JB-1 and filter back in, and she's a monster again!
