Replaced the oil check valves a few days ago. Put motor back together car started up ideled fine. Drove down the street car started misfireing like crazy on every cylinder except #3. Replaced all coil packs and plugs still no change. Took motor back apart this moring found nothing bad or anything i may have forgotten. Put back together still misfireing. Injector resistance tested fine and vag-com was able to activate each of them ok. I'm out of ideas. Looking for a second opinion.

Make sure you didn't accidentally knock off a vacuum line, mine did the same thing with a cracked line..

My S used to have a tap, a valve slap... now it makes no noise at all! RIP

I thought of that too, all lines are ok. Most were replaced as i was putting motor back together the first time.

Just noticed, exhaust smells very rich, almost as if gas was coming out of tailpipes

Maybe try to reset the ecu, maybe your fuel timing maps got messed up
