2000 S4 - no power windows

Troubleshooting 'no power window'
Mirror works, locks work.
But none of the window work, not from the driver master, nor from the individual switches.
Suggestions?

Also: previous owner put switches in wrong places. What color switch goes where?
Colors are black, brown, orange, yellow for FL, FR, RL, RR. Which is which?

Could NOT find a fuse for the power windows (in the driver side fuse panel). Is there a fuse for the windows (would check that first, obviously).

Dome light and mirror work.

That breaker is to prevent people from in the back opening the rear-window(s), not the front.

If the roof also does'nt work, you can do one more thing: grab the car key, and hold the unlock-botton for a few secs with DOORS CLOSED. Windows should automaticly come down, if that does'nt happen check for fuse. It's on the driver side on the LEFT behind a small cover. Note the numbers on the back of that cover to determine which fuse it is.

Key to close/open windows and sunroof. That is next on my list (forgot to do yesterday).

Fuse: could NOT find a fuse that relates to windows. Does someone know what fuse is for the windows and sunroof? I can connect to the 35 module (but has no block for windows). 46 (or what number convenience is) not applicable for 2000 S4.

Just check all your fuses. With a test light should literally take you less than 60 seconds.

Including to find out IF there even is a fuse for power windows and sunroof in that location, or hidden elsewhere.

Tried. Worked once (3 window rolled down, then up again).
Repeat did not work.
Several attempts, key on. Closed doors.
Door lock vac system also getting weak (I think leak in one of the passenge side doors; throwing code; but still opening/closing).

Is there another module to check for power window and sunroof features aside from 'lock' module (I think 35)?

Managed to somehow again move 3 windows down (front right now moving) and up. Could again NOT repeat.
So fuses are likely out (they don't normally blow/notblow/blow).

Still leaves broken wires (door jamb) or other issues (module).

Since sunroof is not working: what is COMMON between power windows and sunroof?

Can someone link to wiring diagram of power windows, sunroof, 35 central locks module?

A smarter way to check fuses? Maybe. It would take someone smarter to know and I'm not smart enough to know someone smarter. ;)

Just messing with you. There is only one fuse panel in the Audi so if you are checking other places you are wasting time

I think you were on to something with the door jam/wiring in and out of door. Or wiring to comfort module or the module itself. I think it's under drivers seat.

I think the sunroof is a separate issue. The switch is known to go bad (contact areas wear out, fail and switch is dead). Sounds like a wiring gremlin since 3/4 windows still worked, albeit intermittently.

With fuses to sunroof and central locking ok, but both sunroof and all windows stopped working (with the erratic 2 exceptions using the key/lock), the common denominator is the central power module/air pump in the passenger side trunk corner.

VAGcom communicates with module, no codes.

Took it out.
Foam slightly damp underneath.
Circuit board looks good, no corrosion.
Carbon disc of the pump look good, little dust (compared to others I have seen).
One of the 3 connectors shows some corrosion (but not terrible). Cleaned.
Assembled.
Tested.
Nope.

Found old spare pump/module.
Plugged in.

Windows and sunroof (and locks) work.
Only remote does not work.

Erased codes in VAGcom.

Need to find procedure for ONE KEY to program remote.

With driver door panel off and window switches disconnected, it is good to have the color and positions on hand (as I found out):

Front left: black
Front right: brown
Rear left: red
Rear right: yellow
