    Engine flush or not ?

    hey guys

    I am going to be doing an oil change on my b6 soon , I was wondering you recommend me using engine flush or not ? just to make sure the engine is clean properly.

    Engine flush? Coolant flush? I'm not sure I understand what you are asking.

    I mean engine flush , you put it in the oil before an engine change to clean out the engine ?

    NOO... you get that stuff in the timing components and your looking at an early timing service.....

    ok thanks buddy , I wasn't sure hence why I asked, I shall just change the oil with with a good quality oil :)

    Also, I was under the impression that a proper engine flush (not done by additives) is only needed on FSI engines....

    You mean FSI engines need a periodical carbon cleaning, which is done by pulling the intake manifold to physically clean the back of the valves and intake ports.

    Sure, that is done on the intake manifold. But the OP is asking about oil. That's why I'm asking what does carbon in the manifold have to do with the oil in the block?
