    Lowering Springs - Cost

I have been considering having Eibock springs installed on my 2013 S5 non-Dynamic suspenion. Springs $270.00 - installation $782.00 - alignment $175.00. I live in North Carolina, but this seems like a bit much. Am I just looking in the wrong places or just out of touch with what is involved with such a mod?

You might have better results asking around on local forums too. If youre gonna pay that much for springs you might as well get coilovers

I just had KW HAS installed, had to go to several places, some wanted Audi's recommended labor hours to remove and replace springs, which is approximately 10 hours due mostly to having to lower the rear subframe. I ended up paying $350 for installation and $60 for alignment from an indy shop here that is run by an former ECS mechanic (if anyone in NE Ohio needs a referral, lmk.) I live in Ohio which is a low rent state, so hard to say what that is in NC dollars.

Ouch! Great price on the springs, but labor should be $400 tops, and alignment, around $90. Where in NC are you?

$375 total at Eurowise. Just ask for Mike and tell him you have the S5 Mop mentioned.

I have HR sports springs and the OEM RS5 springs (don't know if it'll be compatible with your s5) that's been sitting in the garage. So if you want oem RS5 drop or even lower with the HR sports, let me know.

Thanks for the offer, I know the HR Sports will lower the car a little more than I would like. I am not sure what the specs are on the RS5 springs or how they would effect the S5 3.0T. I have EuroCode sways and CR15 strut bar and I love the way the car handles and rides. So am am not looking to change the handling or ride, just for looks. I also can not go to low, because I am using the car for cross country trips. Everything I have read seens to point more toward the Eibach Springs for my needs.

It took my mechanic 2 hours to install my vogtland springs so 130$ plus 250$ for the springs. The drop is very nice on the 3.0t. It lowered the front 1.5" and the rear 1"

Looks good mops! I considered a SQ5 as a possibly successor down the line to my S5. I need more of your cash flow to mod it though lol.

Have you considered replacing your stock S-tronic plastic shift ball with a BFI one? I figured this would be right up your alley. I recently got one & it's so worth the $180. No button, it's really cool how you just lift up to engage nice & heavy billet aluminum and perforated leather. Works across all B8 models with DSG & Tiptronic. You can also put different shift coins on it. It's gotta weigh like 1.5lbs, very very nice quality.

I recently just put H&R OE's on my car, luckily they were from a friend who switched to coils & he was able to do the install for me with my helping hand. I don't take Free even from a friend so I still have him a Benjamin. But the plus side I know all the work was carefully done not some random shop I'm not familiar with.

But I wouldn't pay more than $400 otherwise I'd just invest in a nice set of H&R coils. I only say this because if you were willing to pay $700 for labor on top of the springs. It's actually "less" labor just to put the coils in. Because you don't need to remove the spring and decompress it etc. You can just slide the new coil assembly in. Took me & my friend a good while with just a floor jack but we got it done.

The OE drop is nice & by any means I don't like slammed. But there's certainly a good 0.2/0.4 wiggle I could go more & still drive the car in the same manner as I do now. The B8 "5"'s have a monster wheel well compared to the B8 S4/A4.

Plus side is car feels like it drives "pretty" much the exact same as it did before on the OEM springs. Fiancé thinks it feels the same so it must be lol. If you want to be ULTRA picky some roads that have consecutive dips it might be the smallest bit "tad" more bouncy. But I'm pretty picky and 95% of the time feels like it drives OEM.

Here's a raw pic of how my sorta sits. I'm in my condo complex on a slight angle. For reference I have 15/20mm spacers front & rear. Could easily go 20/25mm with the stock wheels on there at the moment. But working on changing that soon, fiancé needs to understand looking good in the vehicle is life . Front I think is about two fingers slid in sideways, rear about 1.5 give or take., that's what she said! A lot better than stock I'll tell you that, car should have came this height stock no doubt.

Crappy iPhone pictures but this was to just metal note where it was.

    Update:
I had to sneek away from the house right after my wife went to work and I am now seating in the waiting room here at Eurowise. So in a few hours my S5 will have a Eibach Pro-kit stance.

Hey Zonsolo - I am new on here and sent you a PM although not sure it went through. I am in NE OH too and just picked up a 11' S5. Would love to know who your Indy shop is up here. Have a few things I would like to get done.

    Thanks!

Oh and I guess I have to post an obligatory picture of my ride. It came lowered, not sure what was used, but it seems too low to me. I also think it could use some spacers.

Hey Terry, I shot you a PM back. Nice looking car, nobody on here will agree with you that it can ever be too low. What is your FTG and what size tires?
