On my way home last night, driving on Maryland Rt 4 east, some guy in an Acura MDX drove really fast and up on my tail. Once we got past the Dowerhouse Road light, I lit it up a bit and then got into the left lane. Soon enough, though, the MDX kept speeding up, cutting in and out of the lanes. I don't do what I call, "Cat and Mouse", which is the douche bag cutting in and out of other cars, in some misguided thought that it's some form of racing. It's not, it's just endangering other people, and it's sheer stupidity by the perpetrator. Anyway, driving further down Rt 4, I pulled over into the right lane and let Mario Andretti in his hot rod MDX go by. Then I sat back a bit and watched what he was doing. I did a couple of pulls, just to show him how quickly and easily I could gain on him, and then continued to sit back. As we were going past an on ramp to the left coming from Ritchie Marlboro Road, with both the MDX and I in the right lane, a vehicle that had merged onto Rt 4 put on their blinkers to get into the right lane. This is a badly designed part of Rt 4, because there is an immediate exit to Old Crain Highway to the right. Drivers coming from Ritchie Marlboro Road have a difficult time, one, merging onto Rt 4, and two, getting over to the right lane in time to make the immediate exit.
As I saw the vehicle merging onto Rt 4, I got over into the left lane, behind the vehicle, to give them room. As the vehicle merged, they immediately put on their turn signal to get into the right lane, and I'm sure to exit off onto Old Crain Highway. The person in the MDX was still in the right lane and when they saw the other vehicle put on their turn signal and try to change into the right lane, they sped up and cut the vehicle off. Unfortunately for the MDX driver, the person they cut off was a cop, who immediately flipped on his lights and pulled the MDX over.
