    12.5 @ 107

I'm sure many of you remember that thread from a few weeks back of the "stage 2" (which ended up only being the stage 1 file) 12.8@109. Well I went back to the track tonight on two updated beta files (both stage 2 ECU and TCU w/4k launch). Before I left I had EPL check their server to confirm that the proper files were successfully loaded, they were. Boom I'm good to go.

Get to the track, check in, and run right away. This actually happened to be the best run of the night (right lane)

    [IMG][/IMG]

DA wasn't quite record setting but could have been worse. This was a check ~30 mins after the run.

    [IMG][/IMG]

Here are the last 3 runs. The last run (right lane) I didn't use LC, and kept it in manual mode thinking it would shift ~7100 and I would pick up some mph, but yet still managed to pull close to same 60 times as the middle two runs (left lane both times). So I'm thinking the right lane was certainly better prepped. Had I chose the right lane every pass with LC I think I would have pulled consistent ~12.5's but who knows. Bottom line is the trap is absolutely putrid.

Curious to hear everyone's thoughts... Below are the other 3 slips and a video my buddy took of the first run (best one). For some reason he cut it early .

Obviously somethings not right here. I specially checked in to see results from you an 2 others.... Let's circle back Monday and discuss as we had people using the same files go much faster this evening. Sorry it wasn't what you were looking for but we'll get to the bottom of it.

Agreed with EPL. Stage 2 should be doing better than 12.5.

You need to run some data logs to find out why the power isn't there. Data logs are key. I'm sure you will get it figured out if you are willing to do a little diagnostic work. Yes your car can be running much faster bur keep in mind for every one person who posts their 11.8 run there are 10 who don't post there mid 12 runs. It takes a bit of patience and willingness to data log for some cars to make the full power potential.

agreed, datalog will tell you a bunch if you are not running optimal times. It'll answer questions such as: were you hitting ignition targets? what were your IAT's throughout the run? What about LC behavior? flatfoot launch behavior? bypass valve? EGT? list goes on and on

1000ft D/A's are not terrible by any means, you can land some great times in that D/A.

Thanks for the responses. I don't have access to VAGCOM, I don't have an android for the Torque app, and no P3 gauge yet... Other solutions?

I think you need to make the investment and get a VAGCOM cable assuming you have a laptop to run the software...it is they tool for the job.

Plus it'll help Tony provide a solution and make adjustments if necessary. You can resell it as well, so its worth its keep. See if a local member can loan you one or help you log.

Probably needs some more timing 😃

But it also sounds like a slow track from what people have said. Could you tell me what other cars were there and what you saw them running? Like newer mustang GT's are a good marker car, usually half the cars at any given dragstrip are 2012+ Mustang Gt's. They are a good car to gage how fast the track is, a stock one should be running High 12's@ 109-112.

I guess one positive about this is I'm happy with that 60ft time on my first run.

Slow track or not should have easily been able to trap more than 107. No didn't really get to see anything else comparable that I recall, spent most of my time in the staging lines. I think my buddy, with an ML63 (as seen in video), and I were the only two Germans there. Gotta love NH lol.

It's almost as if you don't have a pulley installed. Your 1/8mph speeds should see major improvement just due to the pulley spinning the SC faster in the entire RPM range. As others have said, I would invest getting VAG cable to do some logging. That is the first thing I did when I ordered my Stage 2+.

When I asked what were the times that was intended for Tony as he implied other EPL guys ran that same night. I'm well aware of what APR can do. No doubt a legitimate tune.

It's still good to know what an APR car can do at NED though :)

    Start with the basics:
    1) Weigh you car in the prep as you race it. A number of tracks will have scales either the large drive-on type or portable ones. If the track doesn't have one you can try a truck stop or dump as they will usually have one graded in 10lb increments. jack/spare, etc all weigh something and gas is about 6lbs per gallon. Weight matters.
    2) Get a vag-com and small 7" windows tablet like a Dell Venue and mount it on the dash (I like Arkon SM679) and start logging. http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...blet-and-Mount

Logging is absolutely essential to understanding your car. Asking other people for advice is great, but for $400-$500 invested in vag-com, tablet and mount you can cut to the chase and get the exact info you need- specifically if you're excessive spark retard or lowered boost from high IATs etc. Logging is a little bit involved to get started but it is something a number of people have experience with and will be happy to offer help.

It's tough to diagnose without logs. Make yours and Tony's life easier by picking up the right tools and get to it.

    Good luck!

I know...i wasn't comparing tunes or even trying to show what an APR tune is capable of. I was trying to give you a comparison from a car with similar mods on the same track in similar weather.

    Acejam I have a 2012 on 93 pump.

Also i have a VAG-COM cable if you wanted to get some logs to see whats going on.
