    Center Armrest Console Permanent Removal?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I was thinking about removing the Center Console Armrest and Armrest Assembly...entirely. All it does is get in the way.

My question is has anyone removed this entirely, and is there a plug solution for the hole that is left when the armrest assembly is removed?

    Would love some advice, thanks!

That part# corresponds to #21 in this picture:

Which is not an armest 'delete' plug or trim, it's the soft round plug that goes on the bottom side of the armrest to cover an oval hole...for I can't figure out what. Cable routing or something for an option none of us got.

I have never seen an OEM armrest delete plug available for an Audi. Always for VW, not for the Audi console.

The part #17 is the part number I posted from Parts link 24. Post edited, thanks for the heads up.

    googlerizing that part# I find:

And it says it refers to #15 in the illustration. Which is described as a 'mat' or insert, which seems to be the same thing as #17 above.
Not being picky, I am actually super interested in finding a thing like this. I think I have never seen an OEM armrest delete for an A4. I have seen a picture or two of consoles that were supplied WITHOUT the hole at all, in Europe obviously, but never in the U.S. .
I'd love to find one and I've been passively searching for about 6 years since I had my 6 speed 3.0, in that car I ended up making my own.
I'm not a big fan of the armrest, especially in a car w/ manual trans. Personally I don't think it exists..but I wish it did.

would love to see pics of this as well, my B5 came with no armrest and I added one since it has no storage, with the seat trays in the B6 I'm seriously debating deleting mine as I don't use it and have it flipped up so I can shift without banging my elbow.

Yeah, the console options in Europe, specify the arm rest as optional. I am not sure if an armrest delete part exists. From the parts diagram I thought the #15/17 may be the hole cover.

However, a Euro A4 console probably doesn't have a cut out for the armrest unless the armrest is fitted at the factory.
