Anybody running Alzor 020 wheels in 18x9 et30?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Ordered these wheels from ECS and upon test fitting them they do not clear the brake caliper. Their website states they will fit with no modification in the product description and they show no spacer requirements either. Talking with an ECS rep last spring, I was told that ECS tries as many wheel combos on as many models as possible and that their spacer requirements posted on the website are mostly correct. ECS claims that when they test fit these wheels on a b8 a4 that they had no issues and they have not had any problems with other customers. Just wondering if anyone on here has these and if they were able to fit them without a spacer? id like to return them at this point because a 5mm spacer is going to make these fit too aggressively for my taste but they will not refund shipping for their fuck up which is crap in my opinion. Still trying to see what i can do with them to work this out. Just looking for anyone else with experience with these wheels. thanks.

Did you try them on both sides? There was someone on AZ the other day that the wheel didn't clear on only one side, meaning it was an issue with the vehicle, not the wheel specs. Also keep in mind that "ECS tries as many wheel combos on as many models as possible" is not an end-call. Best of luck, I hope someone on here can give you more info as to their experience.

Not sure why they wouldn't fit. We even have multiple images showing fitment on our site. Did you double check the offset is indeed ET30?

Where exactly are they rubbing on the caliper?

The spokes are hitting the bolt heads on the caliper. I believe they are the slide pins, not sure. they are the bolts that audi specifies never to remove, not familiar with the b8 brakes all that much as i havent had to do any maintenance on the car since ive owned it the past 10 months. all of the labels on the wheel boxes were correct, diameter and width stamps on wheels are correct but no stamps for ET on wheels. my next step was going to be to actually verify the offset with a ruler taking measurements this weekend but i assure you they do not clear the brakes.

This is very true and i understand that. That being said, they should not say in the product description that "This product will fit with no modifications necessary" if they were not able to test a wheel.

If we have photography of the wheels installed on said vehicle then the wheels have been test fitted. We would not catalog a wheel to fit a vehicle without test fitting it first either.

sorry. my last post wasnt directly geared towards the 020's, just a general statement. i was just saying that i would hope that statement wouldnt be applied to a wheel that hasnt been test fitted in the past. i was able to clear this issue up with an ecs rep a few minutes ago, but i do plan on taking some measurements to verify offset before i send these back for a refund.

We have pretty consistent numbers with Alzor sales with hardly any negative feedback. Mistakes do happen. It hasn't even been determined exactly what the real issue is. Not to mention as you can see our customer service is more than happy to work with customers experiencing any issues.

We never just toss up wheels on our site assuming they fit a vehicle. If fitment hasn't been confirmed it doesn't get cataloged. Simple as that. Glad to hear that customer service is helping you sort everything out

ok, so i realize i made a mistake on my title, i meant 18x9 et 35. i was thinking of the offset with a 5mm spacer. anyways, got home from work, pulled out all wheels again, checked stampings on all and they are all 18x9 et35 as advertised. I tried to mount one to both the drivers and passenger sides and both sides did not clear. I then physically measured each wheel to confirm the offset of each was indeed 35mm thinking that maybe they had been casted wrong. all checked out and measured the 35mm as stamped. at this point i cannot see how no one else has had trouble with these as ECS claims or how they took pictures of these wheels and test fitted them without using a spacer. That or another size of these wheels clears with no issue and they used the pics from that wheel size as advertisement for the 9' wide ET35 wheels. they even have these advertised as working on the q5 3.0T's which i had looked at because i plan to run the 4 piston brembos when the time comes for a brake job. here are pics i took of the clearance issue. due to the spacing of the spoke design the wheel cant even be fully seated to the hub because the caliper bolt that not placed between the spokes interferes with the spokes. If there was enough spacing to clear the other bolt and the wheel could mount flat i bet the inner face of the spokes would hit the face of the caliper.

Hmm. That fitment would likely fit if it didn't have a flat face (meaning like their rotor replicas where the spokes are concave). Sorry to hear about your issues with them.

Hate they don't work. I blindly bought the Niche Projext in 18x9 et35 and they fit fine. Now I admit that I did a check for the Q5 brembo's and they won't fit here. They look pretty similar.

    Sorry man!

NLPed68, any chance you could post up a good side profile pic so I could see how much your wheels poke out? What size tire do you run? I really love the look of LM's but I would never spend that kind of money on a set of wheels. I'd love to keep these and run a spacer but I just feel like they will poke too much that way.

You can probably get away with 19x9 ET30 (running a spacer) but it will be close if you're dropped. You might need to run a slight stretch to clear, depending on how low you are.

These pics aren't great, but here are a couple. They don't poke out at all...And I'm running 245/40r18 Michelin MXM4's. I haven't received my Bilstein B12 kit, so I'm currently at stock height.

wow, those are 18x9 et35 as you said correct? according to the measurements i took it should poke a few mm. it looks like i could definitely pull off a 5mm spacer and be fine. i was trying to make up my mind on 235/245 tires. im at 26" FTG right now and it looks like even with a 5mm spacer i could pull off 245's. ive also seen a lot of guys run 245's lowered on on S5 peelers and be fine also. maybe ill keep these after all!

Yes, they are 18x9" and et35. A 5mm spacer should still work without issue. I went 245/40r18 because that was the o.e. size.

After looking into this further. Seems that the a line was not included on the ET35 wheels for A4. Our research was showing that ET35 wheels need a 5mm spacer to clear the front calipers. It still stands correct that ET30 wheels in 18X9 clear with no issue or spacers needed. But if you do indeed have ET35 you'll need to run a 5mm spacer. Since we didn't note this on the site under A4 contact customer service and let them know you spoke with me and we corrected it on the site and was an error on our end. They'll be able to take care of you from there.

Feel free to PM me if you have any other questions.

As mentioned earlier in the thread, ECS was willing to take them back for a full refund. As of now I have decided I want to run these wheels but im not a fan of spacers and didnt want the back wheels to be at et35. ECS agreed to swap the wheels with the et30 version for me. Ive been a customer of ECS for many years, and have hardly ever had an issue with them, but the 2-3 times that I have their customer service has always been customer oriented and always helped me out. Thanks again Jason, Rachel and ECS for being awesome!

You're right. After checking mine, they are 9.5" and I've figured out (after seeing your dilemma) that they aren't going to fit when I try to install my S4 front & rear brakes...the front caliper will get all into the spokes, much like yours are now. Guess I'll be wheel shopping

Great to read that ECS is going to help you out! That's fantastic!

Ive been a customer of ECS for many years, and have hardly ever had an issue with them, but the 2-3 times that I have their customer service has always been customer oriented and always helped me out. Thanks again Jason, Rachel and ECS for being awesome!
Glad we were able to get everything sorted out!
