Codes after flashing stage 2 and intake pipe - p0068 +p0235

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Hey guys, just trying to see if anyone has any idea what this might be. Both these codes come together when I got the CEL. I have searched and haven't really found anything useful. I tried doing the adaptation and it lasted a few weeks and now it just happened today. First time was at the track.

This never happened in stage one and the only differences where the stage 2 flash and the 034 Motorsports intake tube. Just wondering if anyone else has thoughts on what it might be. I can't image it's the intake because SOOOOO many people are running aftermarket intakes without issue. But I'm going to start with going back to stock intake tube I guess and go from there. Let me know your thoughts guys.

What are the codes actually for?

I got throttle body codes after installing my ECS intake. Could not flash stage 2 due to the codes.

Put stock intake on, codes haven't come back after about 600 miles of driving. Sad but my ECS intake is sitting in a box. Miss the sound.

Hey Joey, was that intake silicone by any chance? Some seem to think my intake pipe might be collapsing.

p0235 is very common and probably more of an adaptation to the additional boost. Clear it and it probably will not come back.

Carbon. I dont know why it happened. I thought it was a bad TB but once i took the intake off, it didnt return. Double and triple checked that all my couplers and clamps were tight, cleared the codes and they came right back w the ECS intake.

This was my experience the first time driving after adding the USP intake to my car.

The intake pipe is all metal so no chance of collapsing for me.

I haven't personally had it come up since.

Hey Joe, did the dealership ever say what they thought it might be? I just find it extremely hard to believe intake pipes are throwing codes. What tuner are both of you guys using joe and whiped?

I never got a CEL. I am EPL, only discovered the codes when I went to flash and could not.

Dealer didn't say anything because the code did not exist while the car was there (cleared and never came back). They looked for it, drove the car and such and it didn't come back. They did replace my drivers side motor mount though :)

I am on the STaSIS Stage I tune (version 3.1 I think).

    I didn't get a CEL though...

I installed the intake, went and ran it pretty hard for ~20 mins. Came back home and ran a full scan via VCDS. Can't remember the exact errors that popped up but, something similar to the P0235.

Cleared the code and took it out again. Has never popped up since.

Yea just trying to wrap my head around this because we should have any issues runing and aftermarket intake. And the think with mine is I have gotten a cel both times and both codes were paired together. Never gotten the codes separate or without a cel

Have you talked with EPL? I know lots of people with their tunes are running aftermarket intakes.

Yea I have been talking with Tony and he seems to think it might be the intake tube possibly collapsing because the stock air box is not providing enough air flow. So I'm going to try the stock pipe and see if it comes back. Thinking about maybe buying the ecs Kohlefaser Luft-Technik Intake System.

Ahh... I see that makes sense.

Might try opening up your stock airbox some if you are going that route.

Are you able to get it to throw the codes when the car is parked?

If so, have someone watch the tube

No, the first time was at the track at wot, and this time was in sport mode when I stepped on it and down shifted to like 4-5k to pass someone and it just felt like it had no power and the cel came on.

Yes exactly. Tony told me air filter and I ordered a back up. I have the AWE filter and intake in the stock airbox.

I have this pop up every so often (mainly in hard driving). Happens on both 91 and e85, stock or aftermarket intake. Honestly I just clear my codes and go on my marry way.

Which code do you have pop up because for me this is a clear CEL and they both always show up together. Is yours a cel? Which one

That's exactly the case with mine too. After I installed a used (100 miles on it) ECS CAI I started getting the P0068 code. The air filter looked like brand new so I didn't think of cleaning it and re-oiling it. I just clear the code and it comes back after a few hundred miles. Drives me nuts. The car otherwise runs and drives great. I also changed the MAP sensor (the one in the back) and the old one looked a bit dirty (looked slightly oiled, just barely) and still getting the same code. I did the VCDS throttle body alignment routine a few times too still the same. I really don't want to swap the ECS CAI with the stock box if I don't have to - looooove the sound. Any more suggestions?

I dont know if it was intake or tune related, since apparantly EPL tune was throwing those codes prior to updates. I went back to stock intake and the updated tunes and the code hasnt come back. Going to try the intake again but its 200 miles away at the moment

I have the AWE Sflo silicone intake tube and AWE filter with Stage 2 and don't have any issues with codes. The tube is pretty stiff. I'd check to see if the filter is secure and/or dirty and make sure all the clamps are tight.

Did you try the aftermarket intake again and did you get the codes again? Mine is not throwing codes that often any more, instead of every few hundred miles now it's like every few thousand miles or so. Maybe it has something to do with the air temperature?

I also have been getting a p0236 boost sensor code ever since I put my Roc Euro intake on. I'm pretty sure when I just had the tune and pulley I wasn't getting the code. Only after the installation of the Roc Euro intake I get the check engine light come on and off all the time even when I clear it. Do u guys think that the performance is being affected at all? I don't mind the engine light it is what it is. Love the sound of the Roc euro
