Hey everybody I'm wanting to get my timing belt changed soon. But I have some questions hopefully you guys can help. Was looking around for different timing belt kits, and all of them seem different like the components they come with. What all do I need to get, since there are so many options. So far I like the europaparts, heard many good thing about them. Anyways I'll drop some links down below.

I just did mine with the kit from ECS. I did Valve covers/seals/caps while i was in there.

The FCP kit doesnt look like a bad deal. Ends up about the same price once you add a valve cover gasket kit from ECS.

I have heard the racing belt can be noisy. No personal experience but what i came across when i was researching.

Just be sure to get the correct tools. They will save you a lot of time.

    Cam Lock Bar
    Crank Locking Pin
    Cam Gear Puller

If you haven't watched the DIY Timing Belt Video i highly recommend it. I watched it probably a dozen times while i did mine.

I grabbed the cam locking bar (came with the crank locking pin) from a ewktool_ny on eBay for ~$35 plus shipping. It's a high-quality piece of stainless.

I have experience with the gates blue racing timing belt and I think it's a waste of money and it is rather noisy when cold which can be taken care of by baby powder but in the end just run a factory belt.

Yeah, I was quite surprised. I shipped it USPS Priority and got it 2 days later. Picked it up and was like "wow, this is much heavier than I expected--can't be aluminum".
