    New Motor Mounts

    Hello,

I just bought a used 13' A6 w/60k miles. Shortly after I left the dealership I noticed a small vibration when parked, idling, driving, reverse, etc. It can be felt most in the passenger seat. If you put a water bottle on the seat you can see the water bouncing around inside the bottle. The vibration becomes more prominent for a split second when you hit the gas as well. I do see some dampness to the motor mount, so I suspect replacing that will help dial down the vibration substantially. I just wanted to get a second opinion as this is my first Audi. Also, while I'm down there replacing the motor mount, is there anything else I look for that might also be producing a vibration? Any help appreciated!

I recently had my motor mounts replaced by the dealer. Only one was actually bad but replaced both since the other was probably going to fail in short order. It is about a 4 hour job to replace both mounts on the 3.0T engine. You do not indicate which engine you have in your A6.

Thanks for the quick response! I did forget to mention that I have a 2.0t. I will plan on replacing them both by myself, so labor/time doesn't really matter much to me. Just curious though, what was the price for the two motor mounts? I remember seeing one for my car that cost around $250, so I'm assuming $500 for both? Any help appreciated!

My motor mounts are for the 3.0 T so the price will be different for the 2.0T.

According Audi Online Parts the price for the 2.0T mounts are $212 for the right and $260 for the left. These are MSRP prices. The website price is $169.60 and $208.00 respectively. Hope this helps.

I have a 2012 A7 I had similar issues. I bought it with 29K. I took it in to the Audi dealer soon after I bought it and they replaced one of the motor mounts under Audi warranty. That seem to be an issue on some motors.

Unfortunately I highly doubt I am still under any sort of warranty that would cover those.
