I loaned my b6 to someone (I know I regret it) while I was in the Post Office and he forgot to put the e-brake down. I guessed he couldn't see it under the arm rest,I left it in 3 Clicks before he took off,Came back with a strong smell now my rear brake are warped so they done my e brake still work but is not that tight like before But my Clutch pedal feel loose shift all gears but the engagement point is higher is not stiff the way it used to be you know it grab higher,is the clutch is done? No jumping rpm just sometime a slightly vibration when accelerating like going small speed bumps lines.

    Can e-brake burn your clutch?

What's an e-brake? Just the parking brake? Clutch disc is probably glazed from heating up?

I agree with G-Ride. It sounds like your clutch disc is glazed. That would cause the “small speed bump” condition that you described. If the glazing isn’t too severe you might get lucky by driving very gently until you work off the surface glazing. It may take several thousand miles for this to occur. If the glazing is too deep into the clutch disc material you are unfortunately going to need a new clutch.

No, it won't cause the clutch to burn unless the clutch was actually slipping. I forget to take my brake off occasionally and the clutch never slips as a result, but I also catch the mistake in about 100ft. As long as the clutch wasn't slipping, nothing happened to it.

I’m speculating that his friend had to slip the clutch quite a bit starting and stopping if he left the hand brake on long enough to destroy the rear brakes. It doesn’t sound like he released the brake within 100 feet. It sounds like he never released it.

No way he never release it withing 100ft,He left it on from start to stop 6 min 1.5 miles. When releasing to the engagement point on first gear taking off without accelerating is goes slower then before.Does e-brake use brake fluid?I cant barely see the brake fluid max.

Parking brake is 100% cable actuated. If he was really riding the clutch to get the car going I could see the clutch getting glazed.Otherwise, 1.5 miles really isnt that far.

Depending on how low the brake fluid reservoir is, you may have air in the clutch hydraulics, which would give a spongy pedal.

Low brake fluid should not affect the clutch operation. Even if you boiled the brake fluid at the calipers it would not affect the clutch operation. The clutch hydraulics has a separate open top reservoir built into the brake master cylinder reservoir. The opening is set at approximately half the depth of the brake master cylinder. Consequently you could bleed out all of the brake fluid and the clutch would still operate. Conversely you could bleed out the internal clutch reservoir and still have brakes. A built in safety feature.

If you are now getting a slight clutch shudder under acceleration and you didn’t have it before that is a pretty good indication that you damaged the clutch disc face. What you are feeling is a grab/release/grab /release when under load.

As long as the symptoms only occur under high load I would recommend driving the car as is and treat the clutch as gently as possible. If the glazing is only on the surface you may be able to work through it. If the symptoms persist or get worse the Valeo kit is probably going to be your most cost effective option.

I do have one question. If I attempt to drive with my parking brake engaged I get a red brake warning light. If i drive more than a few feet I also get an audible warning from the display. Was your warning system not working?

There is a position switch on the back of the parking brake handle. Perhaps yours is unplugged? It should be clearly visible if you remove the rear ashtray.
