High quality shops near I-70?

Just planning a BIG road trip, and wanted to know what VW/ Audi shops might be within 100 or so miles of I-70. I plan to visit a few shops on the way, and this figured to be the easiest way to find all the good ones!

I was looking fro shops between Philly and St. Louis, but I have pretty much found what I needed.

Hey, you'll be stopping by my area (Norton and Mid-Ohio). I take it you picked Norton so you can check out ECS Tuning? Let me know if you need to set up anything. I know the guys there pretty well.

I can probably get our local group to put on some sort of GTG for you guys that day and maybe help out in places to stay. I'm sure there will be some of us locals who would like to join up on the Mid-Ohio track day too.

Feel free to join more than just the track day... join the group on the way to Colorado!

As for ECS... I am calling Tom tomorrow to discuss it and APR is ready to help out if needed too.

Do you know what the fees are like at Mid-Ohio? I tried calling them yesterday and the guy I needed to speak with was not around.

I am trying to work out a deal with Comfort Inn too as there is one at every stop, so maybe I can get a super duper group deal or something... lots to do this week!

I've gone to the ACNA Driving School event at Mid-Ohio for the past 3 years. The cost for that has been roughly $400 for a full 2 day session w/ corner workers, EMS, an accelerated driving school program for newbies, and instructors to be with you out on the track. If you're only looking for a few hours, the cost should be a lot less. As a matter of fact, we will probably have done our annual driving school about a week or two before you arrive.

It's a highly technical course and very challenging to everyone who runs there (ALMS, SPEED World Champion GT and Touring classes, etc.). I have a PDF of a driver's guide to Mid-Ohio that you can use to give to all who go on the trip. It has great notes on each turn and the line to take.

It's tempting to join you in the trip to Colorado. Need to check on vacation plans for next year. I'll get back with you on that later.

When you all arrive on the 20th, I think it would be a great opportunity for our local "club" (www.dub-society.com) to work with ECS and APR to give everyone a great welcome GTG and provide some Ohio hospitality. We have a lot of Dubs and Audis and use ECS heavily as our local tuning shop.

If people are looking to save a little $$$, I have room at my house for people to crash overnight. I'm sure there's some others too that could offer a place to stay. If hooking up hotel rooms, work with the hotels around I-77 and S.R. 18. That area is known as Montrose, but is split between Bath and Copley Townships.
