cloth sport seats installed! (question about plastic seat rail hardware)

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Got ahold of some minty cloth sport seats from a '97 via a fellow forum member. Got these bad-boys installed, and I'm very happy with them so far! Very comfy, very supportive, and not scorching hot on summer days (and the seat heaters work for the winter months!) It was a bright day, so the pictures below are a little washed out (it's a beige "ecru" leatherette interior, not white, but you get the idea).

What do you think about the "black on beige" two-tone look? I like it so far, happy to hear your opinions. It might look better if the floor carpet was also beige and not black (I know another forum member has that setup), but I don't mind...not enough to rip everything out of the interior, anyways. The two things I'd consider replacing with black are:
    1) the rear sides pieces that the rear seat belts rest on (these pieces came with the set)
    2) the arm-rest lid (which is kinda broken and I'm looking to replace anyways)

My next step is to give them a good cleaning with a soft brush and upholstery cleaner, then "seal" them with some cloth protector I got from Chemical Guys (basically Rain-X for cloth). I'm definitely concerned about how easily these things will stain.

Also, one quick question around the plastic seat-rail hardware below. Thanks!

So I pre-purchased and replaced these c-clips (and the black equivalents for the inner rails)...

...but does anyone have a part number for these little bastards pictured below? They were both F-ed on the cloth seats, so I cannibalized the pair from my existing leatherette seats.

For folks who haven't done this, you can see where they fit in the image below (inner seat rails, in front of the black c-clip)

But I need to pull the seats out again to replace these little black stop bumpers, which fell apart during the installation and I hadn't purchased in advance. These are for the OUTER seat rails (whereas the white folding clips are for the INNER seat rails)

^^^...unless these black ones are designed to interchangeable with the white folding clips on the inner rails??? (which would be nice). Does anyone know if that's the case, or where I can get replacement white folding clips for the inner rails?

    Thanks!

I had that same mismatch (Black/Ecru) on my old car. It annoyed me at first, but I eventually got accustomed to it.

Damn near same combo here! I got S4 suede door cards for a touch of class. I want to do a black headliner though.

Yeah, several people have. For instance, here are pics of BaseDrifter's old setup (saved in my "inspiration" album, haha). I think his works better since his carpet carries the beige look throughout. I don't think I want to dick around with the pillars, door cards, window seals, rear deck, and headliner. But in both BaseDrifter and redline's pictures, I can't see what you did with the damn arm rest lid!

Either of you guys remember sourcing those replacement clips I mentioned above?

Base doesn't have an arm rest, his car didn't come with one. Not sure about redline. Not 100% about it, but I think those white rubber parts are older versions of the black rubber guys. The seats from my 98 only had the black ones, same with the donor seats from a 2000, assuming I'm remembering correctly, Ill check later tonight.

I took the armrest out of my car because it was always in the way.

My arm rest has the white lid still. If I recover the headliner, I'll use the same material for the arm rest

That's kinda what I was hoping. My 2001 leatherette seats DID have the white rubber parts (on the inner rails) and the black rubber guys on the outer rails. If I could just use 4 black rubber things all around, that'd be ideal.

Any pics, Memo? I'm sure black looks best next to just the seats, but I'm trying to think about the overall interior as a whole. For instance, if I did the arm rest and door cards all in black, the Ecru rear deck and headliner would look REALLY out of place...my thinking is I gotta maintain the right balance so shit doesn't look TOO tacked-on.

It's like I need a Feng Shui consultant or some shit.

OP, those look great! Glad you found what you were looking for. I'm happy with Gray Sport Cloth for now, but will definitely buy some black ones some day.
