    B8.5 Allroad Wheel Help!

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Hey guys, Im new here but definitely not new to VW/Audi. But besides that, Im trying to help my grandmother get some different wheels for her new(to her) A4 Allroad...

She lives in CO and Im in CA so its hard to do measurements. From what i can tell she has the 18x8" five spoke like in the picture Ive posted below. They have a 26mm offset(according to most websites), which seems super aggressive for a stock wheel. Regardless, Im going along as that is what Im getting a majority answer.

From talking to her, here is what she wants... She would like to use the same tires(basically just swap the existing tires to the new wheels), so Im primarily looking for something close to an 18x8. She also expressed that she REALLY likes the look of the RS4 split 7 spoke wheels(pic added for reference)
    [IMG][/IMG]

I know the OEM ones are an option, but with the stock offset, Im sure spacers would have to be in the equation and I really dont want to do that to her. Here are my questions...

    1. Is there a replica wheel manufacturer that makes these in an offset that might be closer to stock?

    2. If I did stick with the offest that these came in, is there any interference issues on the Allroad? I know it sits a little higher, but strut clearance can be a bitch! I know they may be sucked into those gorgeous flares.

Thanks for any help! Im looking forward to some answers

Hartmann sells the HRS4-252-GS wheel in 18x8. The offset they advertise is ET32, which is kind of close.

Oh yea man... These were the grandparents that really got me into cars. I grew up riding in the back of their 64 Porsche 356 to events and whatnot. My grandfather recently passed and she was left with a boxster and a Buick as her regular cars. She traded both for a really nice allroad. She was out in CA visiting this weekend and she asked me about doing different wheels on it so I told her I would definitely help with that!

The allroad 19" OEM wheels are et26. Most aftermarket replicas have offsets in the et 30+ range in my experience; more of an A4 fitment.

I think that the A5/S5 OEM wheels have offsets similar to the B8.5 allroads. However, I haven't dug too deep into this yet.

FWIW I've been running an aftermarket 20" BC Racing wheel with a custom et20 offset (look in my sig for wheel and tire specs). I get a little rubbing and big bumps rarely with where I am ride height wise. I'm also an avid skier and drive in the snow frequently. I can say that even with the 20" wheel, the Continental ExtremeContact DWS all seasons have been flawless. I believe the DWS was updated with a newer model.

I use this website when comparing different wheels and tire combinations: http://www.e90post.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=12

    Hope this helps.

That's awesome. Per the comment above about A5/S5, the most aggressive S5 wheels get is 19x9 ET33 which would still be pretty tucked on an Allroad. RS5 20 inch rotors fit perfectly and look fantastic, though. I don't recall their specs off the top of my head. You'll likely need to do wheels off an RS model or go aftermarket (or run unsafely large spacers) to get the correct fitment.

just since no one else has mentioned it yet, OEM RS4 wheels are not an option for you as the hubbore is different

First of all, you're grandma is awesome. Kudos to her for wanting new wheels. In comparison, my wife thinks I'm crazy every time these boxes show up to the house and I'm out in the garage for hours on end.

As you mentioned, the 18x8 five spoke stock wheels are in fact ET26. While the offset is aggressive by A4 standards, the AR fender flares can really accommodate a good size wheel/offset. I've seen people use spacers on their stock wheels. 15 front / 20 rear. You can even go with something as wide as 20x10.5 (BBS CH-R come to mind). Do your research and ensure whichever wheel you choose has a 66.6 center bore.

Give you're grandma a high five from me.
