    RS5 brake pad question

Hey guys, spoke to my dealer about my brakes being unable when braking from high speeds. Thinking it's the pads and not the rotors as they said the rotors show no sign of warping at all. I brought up the idea of switching to Hawk 5.0 pads on the same set of rotors and they told me that the issue would get worse. Is this true? I have a hard time believing that the feel would get worse if their claims of no warping is true. Is this the dealer just trying to get me to not switch to aftermarket?

I assume you are finding your brakes unstable when braking at high speeds...? Juddering? Inconsistent pedal feel? Fadding too quickly?

I have stock rotors and put on stoptech street performance with no issues. They are similiar to the Hawk 5.0 pads...ferro-carbon compound and not ceramic.

May sure you switch your brake fluid to ensure it can handle the high temps. Ex. Motul 5.1 or Motul 600

(My buddy cooked his Hawk HPS pretty quickly...they literally smoked when he was doing the bed in.)

It is worth trying something different as your stock setup is not performing.

If he pads dont work out i suggest you try switching to Girodisc rotors, which is my plan. They now have 380mm front and matching rears.

    Good luck...
