    B7 S4 hub vs B7 A4 hub

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
So I sadly just had to do a wheel bearing replacement on my B7 A4 and what a total bitch and a half... my buddy after the fact, told me that he recently replaced his REAR hub (A4) with the S4 hubs. Which is obviously aluminium and not pressed in like the A4 ones...

Is this also applicable to the fronts on the B7???

I think the fronts are the same.

    Look at the applicability below:

    Clicky

To clarify, the wheel bearing is pressed onto the hub (or hub into the bearing -- whichever you prefer), and then bolted to the upright from behind via the 4 bolt holes in the wheel bearing. These are interchangeable between B6/B7/C5 A6. The bolts are triple square (XZN), I think size is 12. Very easy to strip if you're not careful.

Good God that's a lot of money for a part.

Yeah but we all know ECS is great for looking things up! I have my current hubs and uprights from a wrecked S4, and I unbolted my original hubs as spares.

Only a few weeks but it was a noticeable change in road noise (better) after changing it and I drove it probably the hardest I've ever driven the car the day after changing it with no problems.

To be honest only time will tell. Most people aren't willing to take the risk on them. I was/am. I've bought A LOT of things from eBay and this is a brand spanking new part. I'd take this over a used bearing hub any day.

Hmm. My only reservation is that part new is the price of a new bearing on jhm.. Ecs.. Etc

I may bite the bullet though because why the fuck not
