15,000 service at San Jose Audi

I took my car in for its 15k service today. As many suggested, I made an appointment online to see Eric.

The website was easy to use, to customize my service. My headlights and washer nozzles needed to be adjusted. No issue.

Eric was a little busy, but Igor helped me out for the drop off.

Gotta say, even in the best of times over the years, service has never been exceptional. But my first experience with these guys was great. Friendly, quick and informative, they got me out the door quickly. My only gripe was with Audi's new loaner app/thing, but I'm not holding service accountable for that.

The car was even done on time. Unheard of. Eric brought the car around and we talked about my cosmetic alterations a bit. I ended up buying Audi Care and will likely continue to visit this dealer for my service.

Very impressed (or maybe I've had a LOT of disappointing service).

Aren't they the dealer that had the very public joyride / blow snorting mechanic?

First I'm hearing of it but I'm relatively new to the community. Besides, coke makes people into efficient workers. :)

I believe that was at Audi of Palo Alto.

Oh jeez, really? I was going to take my car there (very close to me). Been there a few times without issue, but I guess you never know. Perhaps I'll go to Audi Burlingame instead.

I had quite the opposite experience at Steven's creek at my 15K service on 3/30 and meaning to post on the NorCal regional Forum. SA (Igor) was nice enough, but I complained of a loud humming noise coming from the driver side wheel well and that we think it may be a faulty wheel bearing. According to Igor, the tech didn't find anything wrong and that if I wanted to take a ride in my car with a tech to try to point it out, that I can do that. They sent me home telling me car was fine! I didn't bother to come back.

Took it Oakland Audi a couple weeks later for a second opinion and they couldn't believe SC told me my car was fine. They said the failure was obvious and they changed out not only 1 but 2 failed wheel bearings!!

btw, Oakland Audi is open on Saturdays and the loaner car process is super easy!!

I'm also in the East Bay and curious about other peoples' experiences with these dealers as well. I purchased my car at Palo Alto and took it there a couple times, got my 15K there without any issue. However, since then, I have installed quite a few mods (cat back, lowering springs, intake, JB1, etc). Is Palo Alto mod friendly? If not, are any of the others (Stevens Creek, Oakland)?

Of course I'd take off my JB1, and I can put the factory airbox on before taking it in for service. I'm assuming they won't give me any grief for a cat back exhaust and lowering my car right? Still, if there's a more mod friendly dealership I'd prefer to go there.

    Thanks!

And I had a terrible buying experience at Audi Oakland, ha. Maybe their service department is better. I guess it's just a roll of the dice? ;)

I bought my car at Audi Palo Alto and they've done my 5k service. I've stopped by there a couple times to ask various questions (ex: can I re-use the control units in my LEDs if purchasing a Euro set that doesn't include them) and they've always been very helpful and friendly. The joy ride was done by one of the detail guys, not a service representative. I always tell them not to wash my car anyways so I don't really care about that. They didn't care about my intake when I brought the car in for the 5k. They more just had questions about what other plans I had for the car. That being said, that's not an indication that they're a "mod friendly" dealership.
