    Speedometer and Mileage Problem

Ok I have a B6 S4 and ended up replacing my cluster and comfort control module. My CCM was soaked in water and a bunch of stuff just was not working. So I replaced the module and everything seems to be working except my Speedometer, alarm horn, and lock for gas cap. My car also no longer lock doors at a certain speed. On the speedometer everything works except the speed reading and nothing updates on the menu screen on the speedometer itself. So no MPG, nothing is updating, not even the mileage. I hook the car up to vagcom and get no codes since replacing the CCM and I can see my wheel speed and vehicle speed in VCDS but my needle on the speedometer does not move. When I run the test in VCDS the cluster passes everything including needle sweep. So the only thing I can think of is Im not getting a signal from somewhere and I even have a new ABS module.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Did you buy a brand new cluster or a used one? There are a couple cluster revisions unfortunately and it sounds like you might have the wrong one. A couple years back on my old 03' A4 I did a cluster swap, I installed an S4 cluster and had exactly the problem you describe. Problem was it was just the wrong cluster for the vin# build.
I don't remember precisely what the cutoffs were, but I think there is an EARLY B6 S4 cluster that gets vehicle speed from the VSS on the trans rather than the ABS wheels sensor.
There's a thread in the B6 section recently that outlines how to tap ABS signal and run it to the cluster to correct this if it's the problem.

CCM just sounds like it needs to be coded correctly.

I have a refurbish cluster. I remember reading something about the clusters that read from the VSS had a wire on pin 5 and some people added a wire to the harness and ran that wire directly to a wire coming from ABS. My S4 is a 04 no VSS.

Oh so I may have an old B6 S4 cluster. I thought all of B6 clusters used ABS.
