Does everyone do this or just roll the dice? I have a 2014 S6 with just over 11K on it and need to bring in for service...MMI says so. I had it APR tuned both ECU and TCU as well as a bunch of other stuff that i'm not to concerned with. Should I go to my APR shop and have them flash them both back to stock or just roll with it? Really just want real world experience/opinions here. I know if I get flagged it could cause a problem down the road but couldn't I lash back to stock at some point and deal with it then? Please let me know your thoughts.
    Thanks guys.

If you take the car in for service with a tuned ECU, there is a high likelihood of it being flagged TD1.

Some people don't care. It sounds like you do, so I'd recommend you flash back.

Just flash back, there were stories regarding getting flagged despite flashing back to stock so it's not 100% guarantee that you will be fine but doing nothing is certain that you will.

Unless you are cool with you service advisor and your car doesn't need to be plugged in for any reason. Does your advisor know your car is tuned? Do you have a relationship with him?

I'm open about my car being tuned with SA but often it's the protocol from AoA that they have to hook the car up for certain operations so their hands are tied. My SA even recommend me to revert back to stock before service.

We all want to think that personally relationship would get us off the trouble but you have to consider the very fact that after all they are still employee so they can't do us every favor.

This keeps coming up and more conflicting experience comes up along with it.

I used to flash by S4 back to stock before dealer visits to be safe. Then tried to only switch to stock program once because I was in a bind. No TD1. I think it depends on the dealer. You don't always need to plug in the car to AOA. If you have the time I would flash back to stock just to be safe.

If your car needs to be plugged in then I would get it flashed back to stock. If its just routine maintenance and you're cool with the SA/Techs then you can take it in as is - my SA would let me know if they have to plug the car in.

I think I asked a while back and never got an answer, but no one is flashing back their TCU tune as far as I know. Are modifications to the TCU not detected by the spec actual?

More important question - why go to the dealer for service? At 11k the only thing i would imagine is oil change. a very easy DIY or find an independent Audi shop.

I did the 5K service 1 year ago and its showing up that the 15K service is now due even though I have only 11K miles on it. I can do oil changes myself but after reading all the marketing stuff that goes with the 15K service, i figured I would let them do it...Also, my clear bra is peeling so I need them to fix that as well.

I Would like to know the answer to this as well. I assume it would be real easy to tell that the car has the TCU tune as there is a dead giveaway when you look at the cluster.

I believe the service interval is every 10k or 12 months - he's hitting the 12mos trigger.
