after using my original coil packs for nearly 9 years i had the flashing check engine light last November. pulled codes and it was misfiring. so i replaced the coil packs with Bosch and all was well until last week when the flashing CEL came on.
i got new R8 coil packs and Bosch copper tri-electrode plugs one step cooler.
does the car ever run smoother now. the exhaust is even quieter and the acceleration is smoother. the plugs i removed (NGK R) were only one year old. at first i replaced the packs with the R8 ones but i still had a misfire so it was likely a plug issue. they were covered in carbon. not caked on but just sprayed on.
