Hi,
I recently got a dash cam and during the daytime, there's an obvious reflection of my dash on the windshield in the video recorded. After some brief Googling, it turns out this is pretty much standard with all cars and dash cams and the easiest way to eliminate the reflection is to use a dash cover that is non-reflective (apparently you can also put some sort of circular polarizing filter on the dash cam's lens, but I don't think there is one available for my model).
Anyways, when looking for dash covers for my A3, I found a bunch of places offering them, but the images are all generic and not model specific. I was wondering if any of the members here have dash covers on their cars and how it looks? What are your thoughts and do you guys have any recommendations on which brand to get?
I'm just a bit concerned that it'll look kind of dumb having a "carpet" on my dash, although I do want the benefits (removing the reflection in my dash video, lowering overall heat in the car when parked out in the sun during the summer, etc). I'm also curious about how the retractable screen works with a cover over it and whether there's any risk of it getting caught on an edge or something.
Thanks in advance for any help you guys can provide!
