Hey Tuners: - 034, Emmanuele Design, APR, Unitronic, UM, IE, etc.
On my e90 BMW I added scoops to the intake behind the grille. AFE made some for $150, or the common one was a company called Cyba for about $40. They are pretty popular in the BMW scene. They basically grab the air going directly into the grille/radiator are and direct it up and into the OEM intake. They are some cut and bent and powder coated aluminum sheet.
It would be nice to have something similar to direct airflow up and into the openings in our grille. They made a noticeable difference on the BMW at highway speed. Never an issue with water or anything like that. The opening in the S3 grille is relying on high pressure air to make a 90 degree turn upwards and into the stock air box opening. On some it is blocked even stock. It is a very similar design to the stock BMW opening which these helped a lot.
Who can make these and test them?
