I have a 2005 a6 3.2 that's not starting. At first I would put the key in and all the lights would go on the instrument cluster but not start. After trying several times my key is now locked in the ignition. Battery is fully charged and mmi works. Now I cant lock unlock with door buttons or even out the windows up. Please help! Thanks in advance.

It sounds as if the immobilizer is not communicating with the key fob. Do you have the second key available and if so, does it communicate with the car to lock/unlock the doors?

Try turning ignition on, shift through the gears, put it back in P and then try removing the key again. It won't probably help but always worth trying. Good luck

Does the key turn at all? If not then I don't really have any other ideas. if it turns, you should be able to shift gears with engine off and just the ignition on.

As sin said this sounds like the immobilizer, went through it a few years ago and had to replace the entire steering column, i believe audi now has a kit for this particular issue since it is a known TSB. I'd start by contacting the dealer and seeing what you can do about getting the kit as i had to have my car towed to the dealer to get it all sorted.

Reprogramming and Immobilizer are dealer only.

You can't even get key codes for the car without bringing the title to the dealer.

I got home from work a little while ago and started checking the fuses. I noticed that on the right passenger side theres two rows of fuses. According do manual one is (black) fuse holder and ther othet is (brown). None of the fuses on the brown holder are getting power.

    Fuse#1 is electric fuel pump
fuse#6 is shift gate automatic transmission/clutch switch
    fuse 7 acoustic parking system
    fuse 8 control module gateway

When I lock and unlock the doors. I can only use the driver side door to lock and unlock. Windows will not go up and down. Trunk lid button and gas lod button works

Another thing I do remember is my driver side floor was pretty wet one day. Is it possible theres a module under there that got wet and is causing this?

It's possible, I'm not sure what electronics there are on the driver's side. I know my passengers side has gotten flooded a few times because the drain hose isn't properly working and I haven't had time to fix it and there isn't anything on the passenger side.

If your driver side floor boards were wet, I would hazard a guess that the drain tubes from the sunroof and from the tray in front of the windshield area are plugged. The ECU/ECM sits in the tray in front of the windsheild (behind the engine). If this tray filled with water, then the ECU/ECM was also exposed to water. Even if the ECU/ECM was exposed prior and did not show any signs immediately, corrosion, etc. would set in and can start causing shorts. Seeing as the first fault in the read out you posted is ECM related it could be why you are having issues with so many other control modules not responding.

Sorry to hear it, that's exactly what happened to me a couple years ago. Though a audi tech I know said they had a fix for it that didn't require the whole steering column to be replaced. Try to push on that and see if they can get you an answer, it's still supposed to be a 6-800 but better then 2.5k, I'll text him and see if I can get something specific for you.
