    Bluetooth Audio for B8

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
So after doing a whole lot of research to figure out a way to have Bluetooth audio in my B8, I came across this device on amazon

Thought I'd give it a go for the price, why not. After I got it in the mail it ended up being perfect. Clear quality + rich bass all for $30

You may want to get these two as well. But converting your B8 to Bluetooth audio for ~$50 is a steal imo. I've seen kits that go for $300+...

Just wanted to share my findings with you guys.

How is the sound quality compared to aux? Noticeable difference?
    What happens when someone calls?
Im thinking of either only go for AUX, hooking my appleTV to the OEM tv tuner or this

Looking at a solution for this as well for my B8.
Found a all in one adapter that supposedly works out the box with MMI
http://a2dp4audi.com/ <--- Has anyone use this adapter?

Hes got an install video as well:

Im curious as to the sound quality with your setup. How would you rate its clarity at high volume? Bass Output?
And most importantly how does it play with the MMI? By that I mean, what is displayed on screen when in use?

I'm also interested in hearing about the sound quality. Been looking at getting a bluetooth transmitter for my car. Let me know how it works.

This has been covered in great detail if you search the forums.

FYI, you wouldnt need the female-female adapter, just unplug the cord from the bluetooth module and plug the 3.5mm jack from the audi adapter into it. Less connections - better sound.

Just picked up the ViseeO Tune2Air $65 on amazon. Works flawlessly. Shows information on MMI screen, still use my bluetooth for calls.

Does the 3mm MMI adapter give you the information on MMI screen or control via steering controls?

No it will not. Tune2Air is one of the best solutions IMO, but people have issues with audio skipping when connected to both the MMI bluetooth for phone calls and the Tune2Air for A2DP

I use the Cool Stream CarPro and it works great. I don;t have issues with skipping, as mentioned with the Tune2Air. The only issue I have is that sometimes it takes around 20 seconds or so to connect and start playing music, but most of the time it is much faster than that.

It would appear that these BT adaptors work better with the iPhone vs. Android phones like I have. Does this sound correct?

Mine does, but it doesn't have all of the features that it does with iphone (mainly music display). I have an iphone 6, though, so I don't really run into that issue.

People with IOS devices reported issues with Tune2Air. Android devices don't have that problem, been using mine for over a year - works great.

I've been using Tune2Air for a few years with iPhone, it works great. None of the "issues" area deal breakers (mostly track info not showing correctly in list view in some cases for podcasts, or automatically playing first track on the iPhone instead of resuming if Music app has been off for a long time). As far as audio quality and selecting/playing tracks, no issues.

OEM solution is the Audi Bluetooth Music Adapter 4F0-051-510-J. It was discontinued but you might still be able to purchase from Joe, the Parts manager at Audi Beverly Hills.
