    Hello Q7 team,

I am not sure its right to ask but I feel like my Q7 getting cool very slow.. Even if we keep AC in "LOW" and drive 30 minute its feel like getting cool.. not really cool. I can say maybe 30 % cool we can get. Is that normal ?. How I can find my A/C is working fine ?

    Thanks

    Aircondition Question

You may need your ac system recharged. What year is your Q7?

You probably could DIY it for around $20 using a recharge kit from the auto parts store and tutorials online, but a pro solution would run about $50-100, depending on labor costs and freon prices. The actual process takes minutes regardless of method.

Best way to get it fixed is to take it to suck it up, take it to your trusted mechanic, have him do it properly, and pay the $100 to get it done right. I just had this service done to my 3.6. Although you can do it yourself, it takes a few specialized tools. If you do not use the right tools you can damage your system. First you need to vacuum the old stuff out and make sure there is not moisture in it that would destroy things like your compressor. The you have to actually put the refrigerant in. But if you have the tools to do it, go for it. I would recommend referring to a Chilton DIY manual. I have one for every car I own and they are a gold mine of information to do repairs the right way. Don't try to macgyver it. I know from experience how easy it is to mess up a compressor and a condenser. I had this repair done by my mechanic and now my car is a meat freezer in this summer heat.
Just remember, it could always be a hell of a lot worse...
