Yes. You need the mounts, intercoolers, hoses and ducting. It's all bolt on.

Previous owner of my B6 1.8T installed DSMIC to combat IATs with the APR Stage 3+ kit. Still waiting on maintenance/work records from him, so not sure if he went the B7 DSMIC route. He preferred this option instead of a FMIC for cosmetic & California SMOG testing reasons.

I installed a passenger side B5 S4 SMIC in my car not too long ago but haven't done any logging with it. The main difference I noticed is that my temp related pinging has cleared up significantly.

I have done a B7 passenger side intercooler swap. Some things to keep in mind. You will need to relocate or delete your seconday air pump as it will not fit in the stock location. The turbo outlet hose on the B6 can be rotated 90 degrees to supply the new intercooler, but you will need to fab up an outlet hose to the crossover pipe hose or you will need to swap over the B7 crossover pipe and then you can use the B7 intercooler outlet hose. I ran this set up for about 6 months on a frankenturbo before I blew apart the passenger side intercooler. I ended up tearing it out and fitting a treadstone TR6 intercooler with china intercooler pipes. The cost was just slightly more than the b7 setup and only a bit more work to fit, but the performance is significantly better than the stock dsmic setup

Im kinda on the fence if this mod is going to be worth the time and $$ for the gains VS just getting a better SMIC

A better single SMIC won't be bolt-on, will it? Besides, how much bigger a radiator can you stuff in there?

I would call it more bolt on than DSMIC. As I understand, the Tyrolsport SMIC just pops into where the stock one is and uses the same pipes. Either way, the bumper is going to have to come off and from what I've read, the radiator support has to move forward a bit to get the old intercooler out. I would expect it would have to move out to get a second intercooler into the other side.

I see. Apparently, you can actually put a larger radiator there.
    That price, though...

Yeah, the price is nothing to shrug at. Apikol makes a cheaper one at ~$450

Apikol is considerable smaller than the Tryolsport SMIC. The Tyrolsport has nearly the same volume as the smaller FMIC available (E-Code, ER sport, etc.). Both kits both on without much hassle.

With a dual SMIC the additional piping and bends play a factory in overall response compared to an upgraded SMIC. In terms of heatsoak a FMIC will be better compared to a SMIC, however a quality SMIC would likely outperform a cheap-o FMIC.

Unless you're stuck on the SMIC/DSMIC, why not go with a Treadstone FMIC core? I picked my TR6 up for $250 and then used some piping I got off Aliexpress for under $85 bucks. My IATs never rise above ambient more than 10-13 degrees under load.

That Aliexpress link redirects to the landing page, can you please fix it? I'm very excited about a drop-in piping kit :)

The only reason not go for FMIC that I know is when you don't have a S4 front bumper and you don't want to cut the reinforcement bar of your stock bumper either. Because cutting is required to fit most popular coolers like the one from B8 A4.
Having said that, it is possible to stick a reasonably sized FMIC without cutting the bumper, but the search for actual mass-produced cooler of suitable size still continues, AFAIK.

Strange, the link works on my end. Just search Aliexpress for "New Intercooler Piping Kit fit A4 1.8T Turbo B6 Quattro 2002-2006 black". Current price is $46.46 w/$34.33 shipping so $80.79 total.

I didn't have to cut the reinforcement bar with my TR6. Just had to do some trimming behind the bumper. However, I have a USP so I don't know how it'd compare to a regular one.

Depending on the size of your core, you shouldn’t have to trim the bumper valance or rebar(crash bar).

For the core to fit between the bumper valance, AC condenser, and rebar without trimming it will need to be 2.25” or thinner. To retain your fog light grilles the length from end tank to end tank will need to be no more than 28”.

My EuroCode Tuning FMIC fit with ZERO trimming, and sits behind the rebar. Its 2.25” thick, 10” tall, and the core itself is 18” wide (405cu).

Its the abbreviation for "Ultrasport". He's saying he has an Ultrasport, whose bumper may provide more clearance for piping than a regular A4 bumper.

Ah! I think it's called the "S-line" bumper around these parts. If so, then indeed it does provide more clearance. For instance, no cutting is required to fit the B8 FMIC.

My FMIC is 27.5 from inlet to outlet, 6.5 tall and 2.5 thick. I had to trim the little hooks at the bottom of the bumper, but the core sits happily below the rebar. I still have fogs with covers.

Apikol makes a larger SMIC that's pretty close to the size of the Tyrolsport. I'm currently running one.
