Any experience with ssac / eBay cats?

    Hi,

I have read lots of threads saying ssac / eBay systems are pretty good bang for your buck. Specifically I am needing to replace my cats, and for the price of a good set of cats I can get the turbo back system.

I anyone have some miles on their ssac cats? Do they last?

Fairly certain they are two way cats, not the standard three way. A member on here wouldn't kept failing for NOx with brand new SSAC cats

Ebay / Parts and Bang for the buck is'nt true, unless it's about original and OEM parts.

The problem with any chinese / japanese metals is that the casting is different, and therefore can crack within a year. I've bought a header for a VR6 once and it cracked within a year, knowing it's material is just not up for the heat.

Personally if i had a 6spd i would just buy some used quality afternarket downpipes, but im tip, the canadian dollar sucks ass and afternarket tip downpipes dont pop up very often.

I've got ssac cats on my downpipe back 2.5 system. They work just fine. They even toned the exhaust down a bit too.

If you're going to buy the stuff then buy it directly from ssac, eBay may not always be ssac and besides the occasional fitment problem ssac is good stuff and excellent bang for your buck. I have never heard of any issues from ssac other than some fitment bugs and I know the owners/ managers are pretty good people to deal with from the interactions I've read here on the zine.
