How does the heat shield stay up without it?

It was holding up when I took it out because of the vent that goes to the OEM intake sits on top of it as well as the line attached to the side of the wall, then last the intake that goes physically through the side of it holds it in place. I took it off because I sold my car. If you are worried about that and handy you can definitely add a more sturdy L bracket for those plungers. That flap that broke was crap construction and I dont believe it was ever even holding it in place when I installed it haha.

You can easily get $5 worth of stuff from home depot to fix it if you are even slightly handy. Ill send a pic tonight
