    Tiptronic Fluid Change Question

    Hello,

I just did a DSG change last week which went painlessly due to the snorkel. Now I'm working on a 13' Q5 transmission and can't find a decent DIY.

Here's where I am and my question:
I drained fluid out of bottom fill hole. Pumped in new fluid with ECStuning's tool via the drain hole. I was assuming there was a snorkel based on all the other tiptronic transmissions I've seen DIY for so I let the temperature get to 35-40 via vcds. I then let out the fill plug and fluid came rushing out... there was an oh shit moment when I thought way too much fluid was coming out and plugged it back up.

I then knew the other methods I had seen mentioned filling via the fill hole at the top, I pulled it thinking I could check, a bit of fluid ran out (maybe 1/10th of a quart? somewhere around there, not just a few drips). Temperature of tranmission was still in appropriate range at this time as well. I resealed the fill plug.

So.... all being said, am I good? Should I try to pump more in the top fill hole until it runs out (this could potentially just gush fluid everywhere since fluid already drained out). I appreciate the response, also Hi I'm new, clearly.

Also I should mention I measured drain fluid compared to fluid put in/lost to what may or may not be a snorkel in this transmission. I am down somewhere around half a quart, I'm not sure if they were overfilled this much or not.
