    Modding B7 Avant

    Hey all,

Not sure if this is the correct location for the thread, but i'm looking to bump my B7 Avant up 2 inches in height. Has anyone here done so, or have experience or could point me in the direction?

I'm a rock climber, and need access to B grade roads and worse sometimes; thus don't necessarily need more power, but additional clearance would be nice.

I'm rocking an 06 B7 Avant in Mara blue 3.2 V6 manual with Canadian origin(euro cluster).

The goal is to raise height, but also keep stiffness and body roll to a minimum, so i figure thicker sway bars, and a lift is likely.

My buddy did something similar in his 2013 Golf R, where he put in Tiguan Springs. Can we mount Q5 or Q7 springs in our cars to lift???

most people want to lower them not raise them. Did it come with the sport suspension or the stock one? Aftermarket air system?

The car is an S-Line. How would i check if it's stock or sport suspension?

I'm not looking for air system, i'd like to keep it all on springs if possible.

3.2 and third pedal…Nice!! FWIW and it'll cost…. pick up a older all road and enjoy the adjustable ride Honestly if used just for your climbing excursions , they're cheap enough and what little mileage you'd rack up it may just fill your order nicely with little expense on maintenance since mileage will be kept to a minimum

06 S-Line would have sport suspension. Non S-Line springs would bring it up a bit.
If you want to go higher, you'll need coilovers or air suspension.

^ like he said. I think some of the newer a6 avants had air ride that will go up and down or like someone else said grab an allroad you can find them cheap all over.

I'll post this in the suspension forum in this case and come back with news once this gets installed. Unless there's a preferred vendor for coilovers that will keep geometry the same while raising the car as well as keeping body roll and stiffness close to what i've got??
