In the second link posted in the pull at the beginning of the video the car bangs and sounds like a gunshot when it shifts. How do you get that sound? Is it just tuned to run richer on the overrun so the unburnt fuel ignites in the manifold? Or does it have to do with less back pressure in the exhaust?

Im guessing thats the antilag between shifts.( no lift shifting) knowing it sounds the same as when he uses the launch controll

I have no lift shift on my car and it doesn't make that sound although I havn't gotten to installing my new downpipes yet so it only has an aftermarket catback. Also I got a ride in a friends abarth and it makes the same sound on shifts though far less aggressive and he doesn't have no lift shift and has a stock exhaust system.

I know wjat poping your talking about. My buddies straight pipe mini cooper s does it very loud (still not as loud as the s4 in video haha) I think you are right about being extra fuel and no cat converters/ wide open exhaust.

It's all in the tune. Have you heard a new f-type? It's awesome but it'll blow your eardrums out

Usually the performance enhanced cars have bigger fuel injectors pumping more fuel into the burning chamber, so maybe slightly on the richer side. Also the cats have probably been removed which allows unburned fuel, which ignites on the hot downpipes and exhaustpipes, to explode unhampered with the force of the explosion going straight out of the endpipe. The screen type structure of the CAT acts like a muffler and breaks up those explosions, which prevents that effect. Sometimes flames even come out of some exhausts. Not street legal though. Only for racing.

    ^^^ This my tial 605 car with 3" dp's
and 034 exhaust did it even without NLS.
As long as I was banging gears/red lining
I was shooting fire balls. The higher power
cars do it alot easier than a stage 2 s4. Bigger
    injectors, turbos, ETC.

This particular car runs 100cell cats and is street legal.
AFR is up to 12.7 according to Phillipp (owner).
The bangs you are product of NoLiftShift function.
It is all in the tune.
