    Garage Door Opener programming

Has anyone successfully programmed the garage door opener in the SQ5 to a LiftMaster Formula 1. I believe those openers have a rolling code and that's an issue with the Audi HomeLink system. Has anyone been successful in circumventing it? Thanks for your help in advance.

HomeLink is horrible. I gave up after 30 minutes.

homelink unfortunately is in almost every vehicle nowdays. holy shit it is a pain in the ass to get it right for each car, but once you do its not too bad actually. i figured out how to get the Q5 to work with rolling codes.

    (1) init garage door learn via MMI screen
    (2) take your regular garage door opener and hold it to the front bumper
    (3) it will obviously fail but the car thinks it learned - say "no" to "did it work?"
    (4) repeat 2 & 3 as instructed on MMI screen
    (5) now it will give you access to use the overhead learn button. use it as it says on the screen
    (6) press the button repeatedly and curse loudly till your garage door moves

FWIW, the rolling code instructions are in the RTFM. On my '16 I discovered that you can use the MMI system to handle the learning. In this case, it worked like a charm, but in prior cases I have had to repeat the process (or at least certain steps of the process) until the link would establish.

The '14 manual only says to contact the manufacturer of the garage door for assistance. The garage door manu said they don't support cars. Hence the post here. They may have changed things in the '16 model.
