The hood lines look strange to me but other than that it looks fine. I don't think it's disappointing but more of underwhelming.

I'm not overly enthused. Not as bad as the Q7 transformation, but I agree that its underwhelming. I was thinking of waiting to see whats in store with the RS5, but now I'm not sure I want to. In my opinion, now both the Q7 and A/S5 have gone the wrong way in design styling. I hope Audi isn't working to copy BMW's "bangle" phase where the styling became god-awful across the entire line. I *would* however, consider a TT RS roadster, but of course I can't get one in the states. Grrrrr.

Here are my thoughts- too many lines on the hood, I would expect the next gen hood to look like a checkers board then. Can't comprehend whats with the strange bulge on the hood (new dodge charger??) . Grille has been widened and is more angular but the top edge of the headlights has been curved, just looks weird to me. I agree with others- the B8.5 front end is much better. Maybe in person it might look better but at the moment, meh.

I think the center bulge in the hood may be due to the new S5 being turbo charged and has the turbo in valley between the heads....All us C7 4.0T owners know how much heat builds up there with the snails. Maybe the hood design helps it cool better?

Likely having to meet more stringent requirements for hitting pedestrians; also bet it will have a VERY low drag number as well.

I will be more interested in seeing the interior design and technology offerings, but most of all the level of the interior appointments.

I am not a fan of the A4 and A5 model Audi cars. I would much rather have a BMW 6 series coupe because it's a much higher level quality car. The A5 is on the level of the A4. When you get to the A6/S6 and A8, there is a noticeable step up in quality.
Whenever I get my S6 serviced and they give me an A4 loaner, I feel like they're giving me a VW Jetta. It makes me so much happier when I get my own car back.

If I wanted a 2 door coupe, I definitely would get a BMW or Mercedes over the A5. Let's see if they do better with this A5 lineup this time around.

Definitely underwhelming. Not sure where they were going with that front end and makes me cringe a little on how the new C8s may look like.

I disagree. Had the '15 Q7 sport with fender flares and all that. Loved the look. Hated the new one in pictures, thought it looked like a Suburu. Test drove it, saw it in person -- it's light years ahead of that old Q7 and the look has really grown on me. Much sportier than the old one IMO.

I agree that the new Q7 looks better in person, i didn't think it looked awful in pictures to begin with either.

This new A5, don't like the look of it at all. It reminds me of a Japanese car.

I'm not disappointed at all. The B9 is light years better than the B8 in all aspects minus the lack of a 6MT... I'm still really pissed about this and could be the sole reason I end up with a 435 or jaguar XE in the future if I decide I don't want another wagon, and want something sporty. I drove a B9 and it's really really good. Feels light and rock solid at the same time. The new engine with the IS20 turbo is peppy and has a lot of tuning potential (if the internals are forged). I don't like DSG transmissions with are now found in the b9 non-s models (DSGs can't handle torque the way the ZF8 can which is why the new turbo S4 has a ZF8Hp70). The look of the new A5 is awesome. Once Audi starts rolling out new wheel designs it'll be great. The new B9 S5 rotor wheel is stunning and looks even cooler in person.

To the person above that said the hood is for cooling. It's not. It's for looks haha... And the creases actually decrease drag coefficient by helping to guide the air over the hood.

I love the new Q7 too.

With every new Audi model there's always a bunch of folks who say how disappointing it is but then end up owning one and loving it a few years down the road. That said the lack of the 6MT is a huge gripe of mine and for many others I'm sure

I just want to know details on the engine and see pics! Is it the same 3.0t as before but with 2 turbos sitting on top? Would make sense for them to have it like the 4.0t minus 2 cylinders. I want to know!

The creases in the hood remind me of some of the Chrysler cars (such as the 200), not a good look.

I actually love the look. I love how Audi is taking the lines of the car to make it look wider than it is with the front bumper/headlights/grill, etc. Wide. Low. Mean looking. The hood lines are functional to direct air over and around the car but they also add to the 'technical' theme the B9's (to me) seem to present. It's repeated in the interior.

I took my C7 in for the 35,000 mile service and was given a Q7 with drive select as a loaner. I had it for a day and wow...that SUV is light years ahead of the old Q7. Quality of the interior, handling, the smoothness and confidence of the ride, efficiency of the engine (as good MPG as my GL Diesel), strength in performance, etc. If this Q7 was out last year when we leased this heap of a SUV, GL, after back to back test drives the choice would have been easy to go Q7.

I don't think Audi is loosing anything in the design of their vehicles. They maintain their lead on the BMW's and MB's of the world both in style, design, technology and quality.

Your dealer should supply you with some strips that supposedly snap right in there. The first ones they sent me had half the tabs broken off when they arrived and I haven't pushed them very hard to get me replacements yet.

Like all new designs, it's polarizing. Personally not a fan, but I'm sure it'll grow on me -- I just wish it didn't have to.

Definitely not a fan of the new Q7 look, even in the flesh and the new A/S4/5 is not impressing me, at the moment. I hope the RS4/5 looks more sporty. I'm tempted to switch to an RS4 avant myself and the wife wants the RS5...

Agreed. I like the newer headlights, but the grill and overall front end design looks best here IMO also. I have no issue with the new look, however. It is evolutionary, not revolutionary. Why mess with a good, clean, and well-liked design.

    Lord....it gets worse.

Now Audi is adding racer-boy fake front fender vents? Yeeeesh. And the hard crease along the entire body...not liking this at all.

In general car looks great! I like some kind of balance, where front and rear are very conservative, while side of the car is incredibly aggressive with very pronounced sideline.

Maybe some of you will disagree, but I like this type of design (very precise, some would say German cold), because this car will be fresh even after few years on market. Although, I agree with some of you that lines on hood are kinda awkward.

I don't like the front lights, they are way too big. I still think the original front end is the best, it only needed full led lights.
