    Leather seat - doh!

Hi all...first time poster here and in desperate need of advice and guidance. I lucked in to an awesome 2001 s4 avant. It's perfect....well at least it was until I went swimming this past Monday and evidently didn't dry completely off and possibly ruined my drivers seat. It looks fried now.

At this point I've tried blur magic leather cream conditioner, mink oil, and leather lotion from meguiar's. Nothing seems to work.

I'll try to upload an image asap. Running into challenges doing from my phone.

    Thanks

Try using a mild cleaner, like something from Leather Master.

    So cleaning it didn't work.

According to some guys I found on the internet, after view pic's and asking some questions, they've determined that the seats have steamed themselves and are now shriveled. They're recommending that I use Leatherique Rejuvenator.

Has anybody had any success or feedback with using this stuff?

    Thanks!

Several years ago I did a lot of research on leather cleaners, rejuvenaters, protectants, etc. and all my research kept bring me back to Leatherique.

I've used it about 3 times in the past 3-4 years with mild success. I had read a bunch of reviews and proof points how this will bring your leather back to showroom quality. My leather is in pretty good shape (for a 15 year old car) with one or two exceptions, so I didn't notice any dramatic improvement. It didn't really soften up or anything. Frankly, I would have used it more if I saw more improvement, which is a little ass-backwards, I know. Perhaps it is doing its job and I can see it or tell.

I haven't had an issue like you show in your pics, so I can't say if Leatherique will resolve the issue or not. But, it could be a good starting point, it probably can't make it any worse than it is, and it's not too expensive: ~$70, or whatever their kit costs.

    Good luck!

The leatherique has been ordered and is on its way. I'll update everybody if it works. One other suggestion from the B5 S4 forum was to use Bag Balm.

    Stay tuned....
