    Angry transmission problem TIPTRONIC!

Hi I have a 2000 B5 A4 quattro with the ATW and Tiptronic auto transmission. I had to change the rear main seal so I pulled the engine and did a few repairs on it but left the trans installed in the car. I removed the torque converter to put fluid in it and to check the front seal. Both were fine. I reinstalled the torque converter adding fluid to it first (the correct audi trans fluid) and then I slid the converter on the input shaft and engaged it correctly. Installed the engine next and bolted the torque converter to the flexplate. I started the car and it ran great but I the car will not move at all. Got no codes from VCDS lite and a generic code reader. I also put the car on jackstands and leveled it and checked the trans fluid and it was full. but no movement of the wheels in any gear. I also removed the transmission cooler lines and no fluid was pumping out in gear or out of gear. Is this a torque converter issue or is my transmission screwed? I was fine before pulling the engine. HELP!

I haven't had experience with this particular transmission but it sounds like the pump is not working in the transmission. It may be something as simple as misalignment when putting everything back together or there may be splines that power the pump that did not get put back in right when putting on the torque converter.

If it was working before you took it all apart I would bet that the pin on the end of the output shaft is not engaged properly. Pretty sure you're gonna have to pull that motor again.

Are you able to verify with VCDS if your shift solenoids are functioning?
