A buddy needs help with a6.

I own a b6 s4 as well as b6 a4... And I've only driven b7s other than that.... My question is with the 3.2 motor my buddy has what would be best cold air intake for it... I told him really the stock Audi intake system works just as fine but like any other person he wants the sound. Anyway if you guys could point me in the direction of a decent cold air intake system for this 3.2 motor I'd appreciate it. I would assume just drop in cone filter like everything else but seems to be no kit for him for easy installation. If it comes down to it I can just install it if it's not an easy DIY kit. Thanks

There's really none for the 3.2 model, but if he has the 3.0 he'd have luck. I also have the 3.2 and there's literally no engine mods for it and as far as cold air intake you probably would have to fully create one

I figured that... I looked everywhere trying to find something for that 3.2 motor but not thing around. Looks like he will
Be using his stock intake or I will be getting crafty this weekend thanks.

Also not seeing much available along the lines of a cold air intake for these engines, but there are some performance replacement filters available that may not give you the same sound you are looking for but will be an improvement to factory and provide a better audible tone. 3.2's are tough when it comes to modes, but looking at the intake tract on these it shouldn't be too difficult to rig something up that will get you what you are looking for.

Much cheaper on top of all that also. Personally not big on replacing an intake without at least a replacement exhaust to compliment the mod and get the most out of it.

I always rock the k&n drop on cone filters and just rig something up myself but didn't know if there was an easy diy kit for
Him to learn on. Haha I don't mind helping him out though on rigging something up. Looks like I will be getting crafty.

If you're looking to mod the 3.2, stop looking.

I doubt there would be much if any sound increase on a NA motor.

The factory air filter is a cone (cylindrical) filter, therefore you are going to get near-nothing by dropping in a K&N...actually you might get issues associated with the MAF.

As others have stated, your friend got a 3.2 and it's akin to the old 2.8 motor...it's sedate and safe, not one which is mod friendly. If you want to get modding, your friend needed to pick-up a 3.0T engine.

If hes looking for an intake only for the sound, he should have a shop do the work IMO.
