B7 S4 JHM by Fast Intentions Catless Downpipes for Sale

I had some catless F.I. downpipes installed on my manual transmission '07 (B7) S4 last week. There was a miscommunication between me and the shop when they ordered and installed the parts. Unfortunately, I authorized the purchase over the phone and signed for it upon picking the car up last week, after waiting 4 weeks for the built-to-order parts to come in. I did not expect, nor did I want the catless downpipes. I am moving to California from Chicago for work in a couple weeks, so I obviously will not pass emissions out there with no cats. Thankfully, at no charge, the shop offered to remove and install new factory cats, which I had to purchase as well, but right now I am stuck with the downpipes. Like I said, they were only on the car for about a week (around 100 miles). I have the invoice from the shop to prove when the work was done, and I am just looking to recover some of the $1,300 I paid for the parts and shipping. I would like to get rid of them for $950 (shipping included), which is a great deal for these basically new downpipes.

I thought about it, but I won't pass the sniffer test that apparently is required for cars being brought in from out of state.

There is no sniffer in CA for 2001+ vehicles now.

However, there is still a visual inspection.

I was told, they still do the sniffer for new vehicles being brought in from out of state. They did it on a friend of mine's 2013 Mini when he brought it to L.A. from Chicago a year and a half ago. I'm sure you know they have different types of shops you have to bring your car to (some types less intensive than others). Also, the possibility of failing visual inspection, along with the exhaust smell isn't worth the risk, especially if the shop here is going to fix it for me with free labor. Moving cross country is stressful enough without having to worry if I can drive my car or not. lol

It may depend on the shop. This new policy was recently phased in. A cowered brought a car here from Utah and didn't have to.

Try to make a thread either in this classified or your regional classified and ask if anyone has the same setup as you with the catless DPs and see if there is a shop that's not so strict and that you can get away with it. And if there is visual like Jake says I don't think they'll be able to tell since the cats are by the header connect if I remember correct. If you re lowered even better. But good luck and honestly I regret selling my non Res FI exhaust and not being patient to find catless DP. I've personally ever heard a full FI catless non res exhaust in person and I know YouTube doesn't do it justice. But I have stratmosphere and to me the louder it is the more I love it. Hope I didn't make a mistake and hope whatever decision you make is right
