You will pretty much always get uneven wear when lowering (unless you can adjust front camber with adjustable upper arms), goal is to mitigate it as best you can though to prolong tire life.

Im a rookie when it comes to wheel alignments but camber isnt the main killer of uneven wear, camber + toe in is.
If you align front toe in to 0.0-0.10 total you shouldnt need to worry to much about negative camber (or lowering) unless you go to extremes.

He is absolutely right. I was dropped about an inch on H&R coilovers and had issues with tire wear. Once I had the toe corrected, it seriously reduced the amount of wear. Camber wear shouldn't be a serious issue if you go with a modest drop, but I would always bank on having to adjustable control arms at some point if you lower the car and want to prolong your tire life. Having dedicated winter wheels/tires also helped to prolong the life of your nice summer tires. Seeing as hough you're in Canada, I suggest having two sets.
