    Overheating

Okay so yesterday I pushed my b6 to red line a considerable amount of times within a certain time frame so I was not suprised that it overheated. I had to put in more water because a bit came out of the overflow but when I opened the filler it was still a little hot and the water wanted to come out so I closed it and filled it later. It overheates about 5 minutes into driving now and every time it does, the coolant light comes on, could it just be an air bubble?

It's possible, next time start your car with the coolant cap off and let it run for a bit, maybe 10 - 15mins? That should allow the coolant to cycle through the cooling circuit a few times and push out any air that's been trapped. Top up with coolant, not water. Coolant has more cooling efficiency than water.

You more than likely warped your head. Only takes one time.

Update: so I tried letting it run without the cap to top it off and not much of result but I did notice something strange. I was holding the rpms between 3-4k trying to make it hot and it stayed perfectly fine but the very minute I put it into first and crawled away at very low rpms, it instantly got hot, I stopped and it went back down, what the hell does this mean?

It sounds like an air pocket, but the fact it overheated with spirited driving says to me something is broken.
Car shouldn't overheat from hitting redline frequently.
Can you see or smell any new coolant leaks?

    Normal bad head signs:
After sitting overnight does it misfire at all?
    Color of spark plugs?
Wet piston tops visible from spark plug holes?
    White exhaust/sweet smell
