• Came outside to wash and wax my car
• Saw small note on windshield
• Note said wah wah wah "parking and traded paint" wah wah "my number is" wah wah "insurance"
• Saw the rear of Audi and threw up in my mouth a little, while my cock recessed like I dove into the water off the coast of Nova Scotia
• Texted said number while driving to my body shop.
• Got estimate... Asked "The Parking King" how he wanted to proceed. He said Insurance. Called and set up claim.
• Met previous VP at Hooters for lunch.
• Got call with claim approved and liability assumed.
• Ate wings, stared at boobs, but without the usual happiness that comes with such activities.
• Drove back to body shop dropped off SQ, moves Recaro kid seat and picked up rental BASE '13 Jetta (I mean BASE... No cruise control even)

Total time since note discovery = 2.5 hours. Record?

Update: just got estimate approved... $1550 in damage for the pic below. Bumper clips were cracked, so they're replacing bumper cover and bumper light with Audi OEM parts.

I am also filing for diminished value... We'll see how it works out... Way I see it (and Dealer manager agrees) going from no to one carfax incident equals about -$2K in value

Plus side? Jetta is 100% resetting my ass dyno.

At the first red after getting in the damn thing, I was making a right. I saw a car coming @50mph about 150 yards out... So I pulled in front of him and gassed it.

Now in SQ, no prob would have been 100yd ahead of him and gaining in 4-5 seconds...

But holy shit.. I was FLOORING the Jetta... A single bead of sweat (or a tear, not sure) fell onto my watch as the car scrambled for redline. Finally, after the work van passed me and flipped me off I looked down sure I was at 60ish, I was at 40. Oh well at least gerbils are cheap...

Incident not funny at all, but write up sure is. I'm laughing so hard.

My old Q5 got rear ended in a parking lot. No note, cameras of businesses around there didn't catch it.
So I upgraded bumpers. And had to do it in my own dime.

My wife had a Kia, between her GLI and her current Q3 ( she hated every second of the Kia, so much so we traded and took a hit on 1 year into the lease). Guy backs into her out of his parking space, trailer hitch on his truck (no damage to his vehicle) rips up the entire PR door and rear quarter, she gets photos, insurance info, etc. Police would not come and file a report because it was a private parking lot (hospital). Hospital cameras weren't pointed in that direction and didn't catch it on film either.
We upload all images to his insurance company (Progressive), explain in detail in writing, and on phone to adjuster and a different claim specialist, their response is, " we'll have to get in touch with our policy holder to hear his side of it." (We have St Farm btw).
A day later the response was claim denied. And their reasoning was, "their client denied that happened." Sorry about your bad luck.

She had F-ing photos of the guy, his POS truck, his hitch dug into her car, her having the right of way (hell she was already halfway past him when he backed out). None of it mattered. They just took his "word" on it.

Be lucky the person that hit you wasn't a F-ing douchebag/cheat.

Anyway, yet another reason to trade in on an Audi.
She's happier, has her GLI engine/frame back but in an Audi now with a hatch and more room.

I sent the same pics to my insurance co, but they basically said they couldn't go after them, all we could do was file it on our insurance and pay our deductible. But it would raise our rates and put accident on her record. Told us it would be cheaper to just pay to fix it ourselves.

It's crazy that still use that engine! I mean I guess its bullet proof, until you put nitrous on it, ask me how I know? :)

But yeah I had a loaner jetta a few years ago when my Tiguan was in the shop and I was like man this thing is slow and I popped the hood and started laughing, it was like being transported back in time 20 years!

Sorry this happened but everyone seems to over look the fact that whoever did this your car actually was decent enough to leave a note.

So consider yourself lucky. I have been a victim of this kind of crap multiple times and ended up paying out of pocket.

I now have a 2 channel dashcam that records events 24/7.

So false from the insurance company that it is not even funny. If you file on a non-moving accident it goes under your comprehensive coverage and cant raise your rates, sure it might cause you to not get renewed but they cant raise you right then for filing a comprehensive claim.

Blackvue is good, but has a 720p rear camera which is meh.. Thinkware is one of the only companies right now running a Full HD (1080p) front and rear. I love mine. It wasn't difficult to install, as enough people have done it, so there's tutorials galore. Ill take good pics of mine soon and how its installed.
