Do these tires need to be replaced ASAP?

The insides of my front tires (Michelin PSS) are peeling and even losing small chunks. The tires are a little over 2 years old, around 27K miles on them, with about 5/32 - 6/32 tread left. The only time I got an alignment done was when I first put these tires on and then had the car lowered about an inch. The rear tires seem fine, btw.

    looks like camber wear

those would probably be considered illegal due to the tread being so worn down in the inside but no one would notice, id probably look into replacing them before winter.
and check them often, your probably dangerously close to the steel belts showing on the inside. if you can see those at any time replace immediately!

I see a lot of small cracks in the groove they look like they are much older than two years...

Ask your self this. Do they look like they need replacing? Are they worn badly, are they safe? Are you happy with running delaminated tires?

Seriously anyone who drives a car and finds this damage on a integral part of it needs to ask the internet if they need replacing?

Dude. Go get some replacements and have the car aligned to show you where it's and and why it's destroyed your tires so soon.

I would say yes. Usually if you have to ask, you already know the answer. PSS only have a 30k treadlife guarantee, so even if the insides were not destroyed, you should have been planning on new tires in the near future.

Ah yes unless you want to replace the rim and shocks when the wheel blows on the highway.

you got the car aligned before you lowered it? that is likely why your camber is so off and eating tires.

I got the alignment done after the car was lowered. Maybe the camber got really out of whack from all of the potholes in the bay area.

I'm surprised (and annoyed) by the early signs of dry rot that first appeared a while ago. The tires were only manufactured on the 9th week of 2014.

I've been meaning to go up to 19's anyway, I guess I'll just have to do it sooner than expected.

Nope. You got a shitty alignment. Go somewhere that knows what they're doing.

Nope. I went to a very highly rated shop that has been lauded quite a few times on AZ. In fact, that's the reason I had the alignment done there. It probably has less to do with the alignment job and more to do with driving a lowered car for 25,000+ miles with no tire rotation.

Agreed, but I think it's relative to the surround areas. We expect our roads to be shit, because we dump thousands of tonnes of salt on them each winter; but maybe they just don't take care of theirs compared to the surrounding areas.

All you need is some water (doesn't have to be ice), changes in temperature, and some of the most congested traffic in the entire country, and voila, you have potholes.
