key coding in GTA

I need to get a key ( with a new replacement encoder crystal ) coded to my car and have the keybalnk cut. Is there anywhere in GTA that does such a service or am I heading to the stealer for this one ?

I found a guy yesterday that will replace just my crystal and cut the blank for a hundred bucks .. think I will go see him. he offers a complete brand new key cut and coded for 200.

here is my Scenario for those interested ..

Friday I dropped my key down the garbage shoot of a brand new condo .. key gone . no one would allow me or go into the trash compactor its a closed system . Oh well .. live and learn .

My buddy recently wrote off the same car as mine . so he gave me his spare key. it was a litte beat up . The problem is the crypto crystal in these keys is a one use. you need to replace it.

so I ordered a new case off ebay that I put my circuit card in. . So now I need a guy to cut the key blank and install a new crypto crystal and program it. ( he said 100.00 cash )

I will let you guys know how it goes.

I got a cut key blade done for about $50 from mkiv1.8tJetta on vwvortex.com. He is based downtown T.O. and the turn around was a few hours. He is also able to program the keycode for you but it depends on the model year of the car.

He is a really nice guy to deal with.

guy I used in etobicoke was great

recoded my key with a new crystal, recut the blank and even resoldered a new switch on the circuit board . great guy.

all for a hundred bucks, I was very happy.

I got a whole new keyshell for 13.95 from ebay with free shipping and had it shipped to a buddies house in buffalo I was going to visit.

he will provide a whole brand new key complete and ready to go for 200 bucks.

my buddy gave me his old beat up key and I used bits and pieces of both.

Ok, I have 3 mint B7 FOBS I picked up a while back, as well as virgin transponder chips, so all I need is the key blanks and someone that can cut them and then pair everything to the car.

My uncle is a professional locksmith and has a laser cutter that can cut all euro-model keys from blanks with the proper key identification code. He's "mobile" but is based about 1.5 hours outside of the GTA, so I usually go to him if I need something. I believe he can also re-code the car for new chips as well but would have to confirm with him. This is a just small part of his business as he is retired OPP special services and usually does forensic investigations for insurance companies, etc.

Would even be nice just to have a key cut without transponder so you can go swimming and the like and lock your expensive key in the car.
