    Repeating CEL, Help Needed

    Hey guys,

I drive a 2005.5 A4 Quattro and for the past few months I've been getting a check engine light every 320-miles or so, to be more specific, it was mostly when I was approximately 200-miles into my gas tank and was driving almost 100 miles in a day.
Usually it would show up and eventually go away the day after or later that same day when the car got to cool down and rest.
I've pulled the codes and cleared it a few times since it started happening (approx first 4 times) except for the last 3.
It started out as a P0011 (Camshaft Position Timing Over-Advanced) and was followed by a P000A (Camshaft Position Slow Response) the time after. It alternated between those two the first 3 times or so until it started to just be the latter (P000A).
I first attempted to diagnose the problem by calling the shop I go to, who said it could possibly be oil sludge since I don't know the previous history of the car, and then using the forum to find out that it could possibly be a camshaft position sensor going bad.
This Friday I had my second oil change since I've owned the car done, and the mechanic said that it didn't seem as if sludge was an issue, he said it could possibly be the cam adjuster/actuator instead, but could not be sure since he didn't have time to diagnose the issue himself (it was almost closing time). However, the Thursday before it, I had a P000A code that came and went that same day, which is why I decided to do my oil change at 4.5k miles instead of 5k.
Lastly, the same night I had the oil changed, I got a P000A code that I cleared the morning after, and eventually came back yesterday afternoon, and as of driving nearly 100 miles since it came on, it still hadn't gone away, even after letting the car sit for a few hours.

I apologize for the incredibly long post, as it is my first one as well, and would appreciate any input/help from members that have either faced a similar issue or know what what the issue could possibly be.

Edit: Timing belt job was done in early February, at 100k miles (currently almost at 105k).

    Thank you!

I’m no expert but are you pulling codes with a standard reader or a VAG specific reader?

Standard reader, sadly don't have a VAG one available to me.
